Southcoast Health System 2011 Annual Report
It's About the Patients
Everything we do, every day, is for our patients. We strive not just for clinical excellence but to create a healing environment — one where we listen to their needs and concerns, treat them with compassion and provide them and their loved ones with the information and support they need to get through troubled times.
In 2011, we began organizing our services into Care Centers that bring together administrative and medical leadership to focus on improving the patient experience. Our five Care Centers — cardiovascular, medicine, oncology, primary care and surgery — are designed to improve patient care through teamwork and care coordination, focusing all efforts on the care of the patient throughout their disease or injury.
In our 2011 Annual Report, we introduce you to five patients — one from each Care Center — who tell their stories of illness, treatment, recovery and the productive lives they are now leading thanks to the care they received at Southcoast.
You will also meet leading members of the community who support Southcoast, the region's only not-for-profit health system. Their generosity and that of so many others makes it possible for us to improve technology and access to vital services so that we might better serve those in need.
Because, after all, it's all about the patients.
