Southcoast Hospital is a patient-focused setting. We understand the need for our patients to have visitors. Visitors such as family and friends often provide support and comfort to loved ones while in the hospital.

Mask Update
With the end of the federal public health emergency on May 11, 2023. Please see our updated masking policy below that will be effective on Friday, May 12, 2023.
- For patients and visitors NOT experiencing COVID-19 or other respiratory symptoms, masks are optional.
- For patients and visitors experiencing COVID-19 and other respiratory symptoms, masks are required. When possible, we recommend limiting interaction with others if you are not feeling well.
- For patients and visitors with an immunocompromised state, masks are strongly advised.
In certain patient care situations, such as in many Cancer Center areas, masking may still be required. Please adhere to all practice-specific requirements throughout your visit.
We emphasize that all patients, visitors, and staff, may choose to continue to wear a mask based on their individual comfort level
