At Southcoast Health, we spend a great deal of time thinking about what you want and need in your healthcare. Quality is a given — we all expect to receive the highest quality care available, whether we are in our physician’s office, getting blood drawn at a lab or in a hospital setting. Compassion and empathy are essential. We want the people who treat us to genuinely care about us and to understand our experience from our point and view.

Convenience and access are also important. When you need healthcare, you want it within a reasonable amount of time and you don’t want it to disrupt your life. That is why we have been working to make it easier and faster to get care at Southcoast by adding physicians and introducing new tools that make access to your care more convenient for you.

In this issue of Health+, we introduce you to five of our newest physicians, and by the end of the year, another 10 physicians will join the Southcoast family. It’s all part of our continued efforts to provide you with the care you need when you need it.

We now have four conveniently located Urgent Care Centers (see Urgent Care). And, you can get in line online for urgent care, so you spend as little time as possible sitting in our waiting rooms.

If you have received care from a Southcoast physician or service, you can also register for MyChart, our secure, online portal, where you can renew prescriptions, contact your physician’s office for non-urgent matters, check your lab test results and much more.

And, we continue to add additional digital features, like our mobile app that places access to your MyChart account, Urgent Care Center wait times, find-a-physician and more at your fingertips.

It’s all about making it easier to get the care you need, when you need it, close to home.
