About Donald Colacchio MD, FACS
Dr. Colacchio is on staff at Tobey Hospital.
A graduate of Dartmouth Medical School, Dr. Colacchio completed a residency in General Surgery at Millard Filmore Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y., where he served as chief resident. He also did a fellowship in Surgical Research at Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo.
He has served as a staff surgeon at a number of military hospitals in the Army and most recently was a staff surgeon at Parkland Medical Center in New Hampshire.
He has extensive training and expertise in laparoscopic general surgery and is board certified in general surgery.

He almost always comes off very rude at first and then is more nonchalant while typing and hardly makes eye contact
Dr Donald Colacchio was professional but unfortunately his demeanor felt cold and unwelcoming. He did not seem interested in building rapport and I felt like just another patient he wanted to check off his list for the day. This made the whole experience less comfortable than expected. As a result I've decided to cancel future appointments and move in a different direction with another doctor.
I was seen in a timely fashion and treated professionally and respectfully. He explained my options and respected my decision.

Provider was very prepared for my visit and remembered previous conversation from earlier visit. He was very open to a change of thinking from me and steered the treatment plan in the direction that I was going towards and left room for me to consider and take time to digest the changes that were coming. Dr Colacchio was a fine surgeon to take care of my iguinial hernia. He and his team were excellent. Toby hospital was great for me as well.
He made me feel reassured which I have extreme anxiety and made me feel instantly safe when we bonded before the surgery since I did my own research in finding a surgeon close to home.
