Doctors’ Note – March 2024

Dear Southcoast Health Community,

We’re jumping into March and sprinting toward spring. With the warmer weather comes the opportunity to be more active and join in on various sports and activities. At Southcoast Health, we understand the importance of prioritizing exercise. As you get out there this season, we’d like to remind you that we are here to help you get back in the game if an injury slows you down.

Comprehensive Orthopedic Care

Southcoast Health offers comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine services to help you recover from injuries, prevent future ones and optimize your athletic performance. Our dedicated Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Program includes a full care team of specialized providers such as Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC’s), Sports Medicine Physicians, Orthopedic Clinicians and Orthopedic Surgeons.

Read about how this integrated team helped Makenna Eaton, a local high school volleyball player, get back on the court after a sports injury.

Minimally-Invasive Orthopedic Surgery

Our orthopedic surgery options include minimally invasive techniques that can reduce post-operative pain and scarring, offer quicker recovery and allow you to return to your daily activities sooner.

With more than 1,200 arthroscopic procedures per year, our surgical team’s use of Mako Robotic Assisted Technology has enhanced the accuracy and efficiency of procedures like joint replacements for the knee and hip.

World Class Athletic Care

Our orthopedic and sports medicine providers have experience helping high-performing teams and players in our local high schools and the World-Class Division I athletes at Providence College.

This year, we are proud to partner with Grace Efosa, a guard for the Providence College Friars Women’s basketball team and Bryce Hopkins, forward/guard for the Friars Men’s basketball team on our mission to promote health and wellness in our communities.

Whether you’re a professional athlete, weekend warrior or someone who simply enjoys staying active, we’re here with personalized care to help you perform your best.

Wishing you the very best,

Joseph Lifrak, MD
