About Joseph Lifrak

Dr. Lifrak graduated cum laude with departmental honors in biology from Tulane University in New Orleans. He then earned his medical degree at the Brown University School of Medicine in Providence.

Dr. Lifrak completed a surgical internship and orthopedic residency at Brown University, Rhode Island Hospital. He then completed an orthopedic trauma fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital and a knee reconstruction/sports medicine fellowship at the Jewett Orthopedic Clinic in Winter Park, Fla.

He is a member and past president of the Rhode Island Orthopedic Society. His clinical interests are focused on sports medicine and knee reconstruction, including total knee replacements, ACL surgery and knee arthroscopy.

Dr. Lifrak is also active in the Providence College athletic programs, with specific responsibility as the team orthopedic physician for Providence Friars Ice Hockey team.

When he seen me he already was aware of my history ans this was mu very first time meeting this Dr. I respect his honesty and that he is not willing to do anything that could put me in danger due to my weight and bad habit of smoking. He was willing to try to see if a cortisone shot would help with my pain. Thank you to the Dr for amazing bed side manner and treating me with respect and still willing to help ease some of my pain hoping this shot will ease some of the horrible pain I deal with everyday. Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?

Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
