The Auxiliary of Charlton Memorial Hospital elects new Executive Board

FALL RIVER, Mass. – At the annual meeting of the Auxiliary of Charlton Memorial Hospital held October 21 at Bittersweet Farm in Westport, Mass., a new Executive Board was elected for 2016. The new officers are M. Paula Raposa, President; Benvinda O’Leary, Vice President; Judy Menard, Secretary; Cleo Resendes, Treasurer; and Kathy Rhodes, Assistant Treasurer.

In her acceptance speech, President Raposa said she was honored to be elected to the position and plans to work on several initiatives, including increasing membership and exploring fundraising ideas.

The mission statement of the Auxiliary is to render services to the hospital, its patients and its tax-exempt subsidiaries, and to assist Southcoast Health in promoting the health and welfare of the communities it serves. The Auxiliary raises money throughout the year by hosting fundraisers, a spring gala, raffles, and jewelry and apparel sales.

Recently, the Auxiliary pledged to raise $500,000 towards the new Hybid Operating Room at the Harold and Virginia Lash Heart and Vascular Center at Charlton Memorial Hospital. At the meeting the first payment of this pledge was made in the amount of $125,000.
