The Southcoast VNA Needs Hospice Volunteers

The Southcoast VNA, Supportive Care Center, is currently offering online hospice volunteer training. Hospice volunteers have an opportunity to serve in various ways. Our hospice volunteer training offers participants instruction in the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual issues that patients and their families may encounter at the end of life. An emphasis is placed on effective communication and listening skills. Many of our hospice volunteers have discovered that their service leads to a profoundly touching and meaningful experience.

We are currently in need of:

  • Patient care volunteers to provide supportive companionship to patients and respite to families in need.
  • Veteran volunteers to offer companionship and support to fellow veterans.
  • Special project volunteers who can help with sewing projects, fidget blankets, veteran blankets, etc.

While our physicians, providers, nurses, and hospice care staff provides expert medical care, hospice volunteers offer a special support system to our patients and their families. Become a hospice volunteer and make a difference.
