Southcoast Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) is seeking volunteers for its 15th annual bereavement camp, “Camp Angel Wings,” in July.

This is a fun-filled, two-day camp experience for children ages 6 through 15, who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The VNA’s Supportive Care Program will host camp on July 13 and 14 at Camp Welch in Assonet.

In order to participate, volunteers must meet the following requirements:

  • Complete and submit volunteer application
  • Provide two references
  • Undergo successful state background check
  • Commit to the entire weekend

All volunteers will receive specialized training, provided by Southcoast VNA’s Supportive Care Program staff. Camp Angel Wings uses various interactive activities to help campers share their loss, and memorialize loved ones. Activities reduce feelings of isolation while improving the self-esteem of children and teens who share like experiences in grief. To receive an application call 508-973-3426 or email campangelwings@southcoast.org. To learn more visit www.southcoast.org/campangelwings.
