  • Everything is perfect. Thank you very much. Very, very wonderful. Perfect, perfect.

  • I was seen. The Doctor looked at X-rays, asked me questions, and said that I didn't have broken or cracked bones or a tear. So as I had hoped, I am going to PT, and hope with time my problem will resolve it self.

  • Courteous staff. Doctor listened to my concerns and explained options available

  • It seemed to me that my issue was not a problem I was told that theres nothing that he could do. No one should have to deal with numbness or pain I expressed that my issue has been on going for months however that didn't matter

  • Easy appointment making process; cheerful, professional and welcoming staff on the phone and in person; excellent care from my physician, who was thorough, empathetic, and skilled in treating my ailment. And gentle. What an excellent experience.

  • Easy to talk with.

  • Wonderful interactions with staff and Matt. Keep up the good work

  • The doctor and staff were very pleasant and doctor especially explained my problem well to help me with a decision about my care.

  • Dr. Baltz was professional and to the point. He wasn't overly friendly, but he wasn't rude either. He immediately went through his diagnosis upon entering, without asking me any questions or having a discussion regarding my symptoms or what lead me to this visit. I do understand that the MA asked about my symptoms and history prior to him entering, so he did already have that information. The staff were also professional and to the point without being particularly friendly. However they didn't do anything wrong and weren't rude. Overall, professional and got the job done, without a warm "customer service" approach.

  • Hello, I've seen Dr. Matthew Baltz for the first time and I felt that he gave me a very good evaluation and exam and I would recommend him. And he did give me options to therapy or, you know, surgery. And like I said, I felt that he did give me a good exam and thank you. Bye.

  • TIMELY AND caring lucky to have you as my doc

  • Everyone was lovely. O.R. scheduled before I left. Great art work in the office!

  • Made it very clear to me moving forward

  • The patient and the clearly talking to me

  • The entire staff was efficient, professional and courteous. Dr. Baltz was well informed about my knee woes and administered immediate treatment as well as a realistic long-term prognosis. I was well taken care of.

  • Great guy, listened to everything I had to say, very knowledgeable, patient, took his time with me, which means a lot. Wouldn't see anyone else, wouldn't go anywhere else.

  • Everything was professional and respectful

  • The Dr. Was busy. 20 minute wait for the provider. Dr. Blatz is direct and explains things fully. Excellent grasp of my condition.

  • My entire visit with the doctor was fine. He explained everything very well and answered my concerns and questions. [Name] [Name]

  • Staff was great

  • He was condescending and dismissive. And I felt rushed. The nurse/assistant was wonderful though!

  • I was in an operatory room for 45 minutes. No communication to let me know why I was waiting SO LONG!! There needs to be communication to a patient if something is holding up a visit.

  • It was timely, I saw the x-ray and discussed options.

  • Everything went well. The staff and dr, were very pleasant and knowledgeable

  • To start. I signed in and had to use the bathroom. Before I even washed my hands the nurse was calling my name. I have a major fear of needles. I knew going in I was probably going to need one. I was literally crying when the Dr came in. He was very understanding about my fear. He spoke to me both very professionally and understanding. I told him I would get the shot. He numbed the area up for me. And he was 100% correct when he told me I would be over the fear. I am a 54 year old who was crying like a baby and he didn't make me feel uncomfortable. I will tell everyone I know to go here

  • Southcoast Can Do NO wrong! I'm so Happy to be a part of the Southcoast family!!

  • The doctor was rude and did not answer my questions. I felt as though the doctor was arrogant and if it weren't for the amazing support staff, I would be looking for another specialist.

  • I was able to get in to see him in a couple of weeks. To me, that is not a long wait. I have waited months to get in w other specialists at other hospital groups. He looked through some previous notes that he could see quickly before the visit. I appreciate that. He explained the complexities of making a differential diagnosis, what is making the pain occur. I appreciated his observations. It is a lot of information to relay to someone in the short time insurance covers. That is not the providers fault. I need other testing w another provider to find more out. So, we move forward. Sometimes explaining something in a couple ways is helpful for the patient to digest the full picture

  • Did well

  • No need to improve experience. X-ray results were thoroughly explained along with options for care and treatment.

  • TThe staff was very helpful the X-ray person did everything he could to help me and the doctor was helpful and knowledgeable

  • My situation was explained to me in a clear and concise manner which I appreciated. I can't think of anything that could have improved my experience other than not having the need to go in the first place.

  • Dr Baltz is a great Dr!!

  • Everything was easy and completely covered considering the degree of injury

  • Perfect overall experience, could not ask for anything else

  • I felt my questions were answered directly and to the point. I appreciated being listened to which was evident in the post-visit report in the chart portal. I feel confident that I am in control of my recovery by following the detailed process put in place. A big part of recovery is knowing the expectations for each step of recovery. Im so happy I chose this facility and provider.

  • Dr. Baltz is a superbly knowledgeable Orthopedic practioner.....Very well pleased with the result of my visit.

  • The doctor was very unprofessional and talking to me he is definitely not a people person gave me the impression that I did not matter. period

  • On-time Seem to know exactly the issue I was having.

  • Everyone that I spoke with at appointment was very nice. The nurses were very knowledgeable, the doctor was very knowledgeable and very gentle. He also put my mind at ease. Great Staffing.

I only waited about 2 minutes, then was called into he exam room for a review of my hands/osteoarthritis. Dr. Baltz had questions for me, examined my hands and fingers, and provided great information on my situation. I was very impressed.

  • Doctor never told me about X-rays was just telling me he recommended me with my size and weight to a friend of his that does knee replacement For people my size

  • Dr Baltz listened to my concerns and explained everything clearly. His advice was very helpful!

  • Dr Baltz was Wonderful to my mother. Me and my husband love him. He is very kind and listens and understands how you are feeling. He is a Great Dr. [Name] [Name]

Southcoast Health physician profiles now feature star ratings.  Below, you’ll find frequently asked questions about our process for calculating the ratings.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
