About Joan Wildenhain NP
Joan Wildenhain, NPC earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Rhode Island College in Providence, RI. She furthered her education and expertise by earning her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA. Prior to joining Southcoast, Joan had experience both as a Registered Nurse and as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. She has national certification in Fracture Liaison Services, and her clinical interests include fragility fractures and osteoporosis.
Joan’s personal philosophy of care involves listening attentively to each patient’s needs and treating them the way she would treat herself or a family member. Her work is inspired by the ability to positively impact a patients’ quality of life. Joan chose orthopedics for its challenging and rewarding nature and will serve the Southcoast community with the mission of making a difference in people’s lives.
In her free time, Joan enjoys cycling, hiking and spending time with her family.

Love the entire team at Dr. Lifrak and Joan Wildenhain's office. Everyone from front desk staff to x-ray techs has always been professional, friendly, informative, and approachable, I am grateful for the experience I have had for years with Dr. Lifrak and his team.
I was greeted by a friendly and professional receptionist.I was seen immediately.I met the provider, Joan, on previous visits when I had my knees replaced. She explained and answered my concerns and questions. A plan of care was discussed. I left with positive thoughts.

My knee replacement they did last year was absolutely perfect Not a drop of pain since I left Charlton Hospital. No pain, stiffness or swelling to this day.They are absolutely the best in their field and I have been recommending them to anyone that tells me they have a bad kneeI can't say enough good things about them and what they did for me

After the X-ray and the follow-up with the NP was completed, she took the time to have the doctor speak with me to complete the visit. Nice touch.

Joan was very informative and explained things in layman terms even though I am an RN which she didn't know so it makes it very easy for someone to understand as many times people are too nervous to ask questions and leave not understanding what was being said

Per suggestion of getting me an injection in my painful knee was right on. Within two hours the pain was gone and by 5 PM the swelling had dropped.
