  • My 1st visit w this provider. I wasn't sure he had read my chart history carefully, based on the medication he 1st provided. It was counterproductive to other meds I take. I let him know & didn't fill script. Called & talked w him. Medication was changed at my request.

  • Provider listened and provided appropriate guidance and referral for physical therapy to help me strengthen my ankle to avoid future falls and gain full range of motion.

  • South Coast Healthcare is not very responsive to patients! I feel like I'm in a socialistic medical system! I have been suffering extreme Shoulder pain for approximately 4 weeks! And finally had an appointment today with a real Live medical professional. Jason was excellent at SHO today!!!

  • I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment and was told that no examination rooms would available for at least one half hour. Because of COVID-19 protocols, I was instructed to remain waiting in my vehicle until I was called (via telephone) to be allowed to enter the building for my appointment. I received a call 50 minutes later (20 minutes after my scheduled appointment) and was instructed to enter the building. As soon as I entered the reception area I was rudely told to go back outside into the lobby until I received a temperature scan and answered COVID-19 related questions. The nurse who came to screen me was pleasant (and she apologized for how I was treated by the secretary). The secretary was not apologetic at all. No one explained why no rooms were available and no one apologized for keeping me waiting for 20 minutes beyond my appointed time (and 50 minutes after I checked in) for a 15 second routine knee injection. Sometimes a simple explanation for some delay is sufficient to make one feel respected as though their time is valuable too. And an apology would probably be in order, also.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
