About Jason Reich

Jason Reich, MD, completed his medical degree at George Washington University, Washington, D.C. and his internal medicine residency at Boston University, Boston Medical Center. He also completed a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Boston Medical Center. Prior to medical school, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y.

Dr. Reich is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Gastroenterological Association.
His clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastrointestinal bleeding, acid reflux (GERD), and colon cancer as well as other functional gut disorders.

  • I saw not provider as this appointment was for a Fibroscan. A technician called me, took me into testing room, ran the scan and then I was free to leave. The technician was kind, and polite. Whereas I saw no provider, therefore, I answered all questions just to get through the survey so that I could explain. Your survey does not apply to all appointments.

  • I thought everyone I came in contact with was nice, this was my first visit to this office. However I did feel rushed with the nurse and somewhat with the Dr. I felt the Dr was helpful with the time he did spend with me. I was not pleased with the checkout process. I need an endoscopy but could not get an appt for 4 weeks, I asked about going to a different location and was told that would take longer. I've already been sick for 7 weeks and to have to wait another 4 weeks for a test that could help me seems unfair!

  • I was so impressed with the appointment being so timely. Everything moved along smoothly. A+ for that. In addition, the staff was friendly and professional. The Dr was prepared, had read my records, and was thorough. Dr. Reich answered all questions and explained everything to my understanding. He made a plan going forward and tests and appointments were made quickly, in a short amount of time. It was an excellent experience and everyone made you feel comfortable! I would highly recommend Dr. Reich and his staff.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
