About Charles Shana MD
Specializing in gastroenterology, Dr. Shana is in practice at Truesdale Medical Specialties Associates in Fall River. He is on the active medical staff at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Shana received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine, and completed his residency in medicine at the Brown University Medical School Affiliated Hospitals. He completed a clinical and research fellowship in Gastroenterology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate. He has served as an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Shana is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is an elected Fellow member to the American College of Gastroenterology and a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is Chairman of Gastroenterology at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Shana has taken care of me for about a year now, he has been wonderful! I've been to many doctors that did not know what was wrong with me. Dr Shana knew what was wrong with me. I have Autoimmune hepititas which a lot of doctors don't know what that is or how to treat it. I can't say enough of great things about him. the only thing i can say is thank GOD for him and his knowledge and patience. I tell everyone how wonderful he is! I really don't know what i would have done without him!

I was on the cancellation list and within a week I was called for an appointment. Dr concentrated on my record with no small talk. He understood my concerns, and had answers to my questions. I would recommend him to a friend.

Dr. Shana was attentive to my issue and thoroughly explained my course of treatment and option if conservative care did not achieve desired results. A good communicator and compassionate as well.
Everything went great I explained what was done in AZ and what I needed done now. He looked over my records we talked and have ultra sound test set up and follow up appt. He explained a few things to me and we are on the right track for me.

Dr. Shana is a wonderful physician with a gentle caring manner and willingness to discuss all issues of patient concern even when they might not bear directly on the reason for the day's visit. He answers all questions and uses outside resources to assist when the topic warrants. I feel lucky to be his patient.

I feel telehealth is a good way, but I still prefer an in-house appointment with the Doctor.
Meet Dr Shana for first time. He took his time with me asked questions and made me feel like his only patient
I waited almost an hour after my appointment time but the doctor takes a lot of time with his patients and the ones I saw were in much worse shape than myself so I was okay with it. The doctor took time with me too.

The wait time was slightly longer than I would have liked (over an hour long before seeing the doctor), but I understand that isn't something that's always under the staff's control.
