Southcoast VNA seeks hospice volunteers

Dedicated volunteers needed to help provide support in the community

Southcoast VNA is seeking dedicated hospice volunteers from the community to help ensure that patients and families facing serious and life-limiting illness find care, compassion and support.

“Hospice volunteers play an indispensable role in enabling Southcoast VNA to offer the best care possible for our patients, their families and caregivers. By sharing their time, energy and expertise, our volunteers bring compassion and caring to the lives of those in need,” said Sharon Jones, President and CEO.

Hospice volunteers can serve patients and families at the bedside providing companionship and respite for family members. Additional volunteer opportunities include office support and specialty services such as Reiki, pet therapy, aromatherapy and music. Appropriate training/certification is required. Volunteers typically commit to serving 2 to 3 hours each week. Flexible schedules are available including day, evening and weekend hours.

Southcoast VNA volunteer candidates must be at least 18 years of age and complete a background check. Southcoast VNA provides free general training and ongoing support, as well as social and networking opportunities. Upcoming training sessions are available in May and June.
