Tobey Hospital Guild awards $3,000 in scholarships to Greater Wareham students

Southcoast Health announced today that the Tobey Hospital Guild has awarded three $1000 scholarships to Greater Wareham students who are pursuing careers in healthcare.

Elena Coffey, Scholarship Chair and Vice President for the Tobey Hospital Guild, presented the awards to:

  • Madison Brun, a resident of Sandwich, MA and a student at Upper Cape Regional Vocational Technical High School will attend the University of Massachusetts Boston, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Honors College in the fall to pursue a career as a neonatal nurse practitioner. Brun is the recipient of the Tobey Hospital Guild “Leonard P Martone” Scholarship which was created in his memory by his wife in appreciation of the Tobey Hospital and the ICU nursing staff.
  • Renneanna Dillen, a resident of Wareham, MA and a student at Wareham High School will attend Harvard University in the fall to study Molecular Biology on a pre-med track.
  • Jamie Read, a resident of West Wareham, MA and a student at Wareham High School will attend the University of Rhode Island in the fall in the Doctor of Pharmacy program

The Tobey Hospital Guild is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to render services to Tobey Hospital, its tax-exempt subsidiaries, and its patients and to assist in promoting health and welfare of the community.  Members serve as ambassadors to the community on behalf of the hospital.
