Southcoast Health Network named to Harvard Pilgrim Health Care’s honor roll

Southcoast Health Network is named to Harvard Pilgrim Health Care’s 17th annual Physician Group Honor Roll.

The Harvard Pilgrim Honor Roll highlights physician groups that achieve exceptional results in their approach to disease prevention and the treatment of acute and chronic illness for both adult and pediatric patients.

“This award reflects all the hard work of our physicians, providers, and staff,” said Dr. Ronnie Brownsworth, president of Southcoast Health Network. “Southcoast Health physicians and providers are a collaborative group that have dedicated themselves to the best quality care possible. This honor is a testament to that dedication.”

Harvard Pilgrim selected the Honor Roll physician groups based on clinical performance and patient outcomes. The metrics used in the assessment are based on set of national standards created and used by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

Harvard Pilgrim reviews performance in three areas of clinical care for both adult and pediatric patients: acute, chronic and preventive care. Physician groups were identified as Honor Roll practices based on points earned for performance in 16 measures such as appropriate treatment for children with upper respiratory infection, comprehensive diabetes care and breast cancer screenings.

“Earning this distinct recognition underscores our commitment to providing exceptional care and service to our patients,” said Keith Hovan, President and CEO of Southcoast Health. “I want to thank our physicians, providers and staff for their ongoing efforts that led to Southcoast Health receiving this honor from Harvard Pilgrim.”

The complete list of honor roll practice providers is in Harvard Pilgrim’s printed and online provider directories, as well as on the organization’s web site, enabling members to evaluate and select physicians based on quality measures.
