Himanshu Verma, MD, gastroenterologist, joins Southcoast Physicians Group

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. – Southcoast Health announced today that Himanshu Verma, MD, has joined the Southcoast Physicians Group’s Gastroenterology department and is seeing patients at 208 Mill Road in Fairhaven in the Southcoast Center for Primary and Specialty Care.

Dr. Verma is trained in gastroenterology and therapeutic advanced endoscopy including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), luminal stenting and endoscopic mucosal resection. His areas of clinical interest include pancreaticobiliary disease, endoscopic management of GI cancers as well as general gastroenterology.

Dr. Verma graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tufts University in Medford, Mass., with a B.A. degree in Economics. He received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston. Dr. Verma completed internal medicine internship and residency at Cornell-New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York and then completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass. He then pursued additional training with an advanced endoscopy fellowship at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y.

He is board certified in internal medicine, and is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
