About Zoe Vazquez

Dr. Zoe G. S. Vazquez earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York. She then went on to complete both a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine at Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital. Dr. Vazquez specializes in pulmonary and critical care and has clinical interests in cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary vascular disease, and critical care medicine.

Medicine allowed Dr. Vazquez to combine her interest in science with her passion to help others. In this field, she developed a strong interest in pulmonary/critical care medicine as she enjoyed caring for high-acuity patients in the ICU. Dr. Vazquez follows the philosophy of care that every patient regardless of race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status deserves access to health care. She also believes in the importance of empowering patients by teaching them as much as possible about their health, medical conditions and medications.

Outside of the office, Dr. Vazquez enjoys cooking, playing the piano, and spending time with her family. She loves that Southcoast Health provides people living in Southeastern Massachusetts access to top-notch healthcare in their community without having to travel to Boston.

  • Was all good and professional.

  • Stress free visit. I was seen quickly. The doctor listened and asked, what I felt, were great questions. I was asked to get an x-ray before leaving. That experience was just as stress free. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly nice and helpful. If I find myself in need of another specialist I'll look for one here first.

  • Very happy with Dr Vazquez. Informative and very helpful. Listened to what I had to say.

  • Could not get a next appointment for almost 2 months

  • The doctor asked me how I was feeling and explain my symptoms to her. She made sure that I wasn't allergic to what she was going to prescribe for me and was concerned overall. I was happy to know that I was being treated very well. I highly recommend the team of doctors there to everyone that has lung problems ect.

  • Hi, this [Name] u00A0and I just want to let you know that there was a question about the staff and I pressed the wrong number. The...everyone, from the staff from reception to the doctor was excellent. I was very satisfied with my visit.

  • Everything was great. It was fantastic. I greatly appreciate it. The nurses were wonderful. And the doctor was fantastic. Thank you so much and they took me right in an emergency thing. So that was fantastic. Thank you.

  • I'm socially awkward, so I'm grateful she was patient and kind, and took me seriously. Thank you.

  • Appointment was done efficiently and quickly. Everyone was very welcoming and warm. All my questions were answered. Dr. Vasquez was very nice and knowledgeable. Went over all of my x-rays and medical issues. She was concerned with all of my concerns and she was very easy to talk to. I would recommend her and your group without hesitation. I look forward to seeing Dr. Vasquez in August for my Pulmonary test and next appointment.

  • The Doctor asked a lot of questions to see what my problem was and place me on med to ease my breathing, has and xray taken to check my lungs for fluid. Everything when very well. I was very please with the outcome.

  • Dr Vazquez was very thorough and answered all of my questions.

  • Listened and explained plan of care

  • Dr took her time...really listened

  • Excellent experience

  • This was my first appointment with Dr. Zoe. Her knowledge of my condition and problems that I have, because of (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) and (narcolepsy) along with many other complications that I have, mostly due to the EDS, was overwhelmingly a happy surprise to me, that she was already prepared to try to assist me in giving me a better chance for some quality of life, which is so important for anyone who knows that their condition is now reaching its end. Just over the last, possibly two years, finally there are doctors in the Boston Hospitals who are working with patients, to help them understand and how to cope and treatments available, for the betterment of their lives. Unfortunately, this was not available for me, since I will be 69, in a few days, and I am now slowly dying from the complications of EDS. Dr. Zoe, gave me an option that we are getting done, ASAP, to try to give me some ease and help, to make things easier for me to handle.I would like to thank you for having doctors at Truesdale, that listen, understand what you are saying and work so hard, to help everyone of their patients. Never did I feel like I was a bother and my time had run out and they had to go. When anyone reaches the stage of life, when you are filled with questions and your doctor can only give you ten minutes, how much more that adds to your anxiety and depression, leaving you with little hope.Thank you for having the right approach, with your team of doctors and nurses and staff, that help you through these difficult times. I am slowly changing all the doctors, with the exception of a few, from Hawthorn Medical, to Truesdale. I am also passing the word to others. Please, stay caring for your patients first, before your stock holders.Thank you, thank you, thank you. Words cannot express how my heart really feels, more than thank you for helping me when I felt so alone. With complete gratitude,u00A0

  • Dr Vasquez was informative about my personal needs and very tentative to my specific issue. I look forward to having her as my provider.

  • Everyone is doing a great job very professional

  • Very courteous - very professional and yet also very caring

  • I want to thank Dr Vasquez for all her help with getting a new Cpap machine. My current machine has not been working for quite some time now. I got sick and tired of getting no sleep. That's how important my Cpap is to me. I have been walking around like a zombie for 6+months. I scheduled an emergency appointment, and was seen the next day by Dr Vasquez. I want to thank her for all her help in my desperate situation.

  • The office staff seemed to be overwhelmed. I'm hard of hearing but I have hearing aides. I couldn't always hear because another patient was talking loudly. I felt uncomfortable at times. But the doctor was very helpful and very comforting. The office staff made me feel uncomfortable

  • I was seen in a timely manner. Every member of the team was through, informative & treated me as an individual. I was somewhat concerned about the assessment process I will be going through under their care. All of my questions were answered. I am relieved going forward.

  • Bedside manner very good n appreciated thank you

  • This was the first time I've ever been there, so some of the questions didn't really apply, but I answered. I tried to answer anyway, but it was the first time I've ever been there to see the doctor Zoe Vazquez, but I'd give her a very, very, very good. I tell anybody to go to her to go there. They were very nice, the office was very nice, and she was a very, very nice doctor. She took the time to talk to me and explain things to me, and I wouldn't hesitate letting anybody know to go there. Thank you. Bye. Bye.

  • Everyone in this office was very professional. Very knowledgeable. Doctor also was very knowledgeable, caring. Giving me directions as to what I can do to better my health.

Southcoast Health physician profiles now feature star ratings.  Below, you’ll find frequently asked questions about our process for calculating the ratings.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
