About Ye Tun

Dr. Tun earned his graduate degree from the Institute of Medicine 1, Yangon, Myanmar.

He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center before embarking on a fellowship in Nephrology at Boston University/Boston Medical Center. He has also worked as an Internist at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.

Dr. Tun is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, American Medical Association and the Massachusetts Medical Society.

He is fluent in Burmese and enjoys playing soccer, music and traveling.

  • Office staff needs to be a bit more professional when communicating with patients and they need to have a better attitude as an example it appears that they are bothered by patients being there because now they have to attend to you (they have to work)

  • I had a doctor's appointment and it would have been easier after the doctor's appointment to been able to have blood drawn at the same time, which is down on the first floor versus I was on the second floor. They said because of covid restrictions, another appointment had to be made. So I have a 45 minute drive from my work place. So I had to leave work two days later to redo the 45 minute drive again just to have 5 minutes of blood drawn. That's the only complaint that I have. Other than that, it's very good service and doctors. Thank you.

  • Have seen alot of doc's over the years, Dr Tun absolutely no complaints, first visit was excellent. Dr Tun listened to what I had to say, explained himself thoroughly. I came out of visit with a plan and moving foward with confidence

  • Dr. Tun has been my nephrologist since I became a member of the Southcoast Program. He's great: sympathetic, realistic, and extraordinarily competent. But, beyond that, he is kind and good. Not just a doctor who is sympathetic and understanding of the health issues of old people, but a man, who has a tender and kind heart. I have been blessed to be his patient.

  • The dr was phenomenal ge had all my previous labs and we together were able to go over all of them, first time ever have I had a dr that showed me my labs and explained and answered all my questions.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
