About W. Scott Keigwin

Dr. Keigwin is a family practice physician with Southcoast Physicians Group in Tiverton, R.I.

He received his doctor of osteopathic medicine from Kansas City University in Kansas City, Mo.

He completed his residency at Dartmouth Family Practice Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., and Augusta, Maine, and his internship at Lutheran Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Keigwin is an associate professor at the Alpert Medical School at Brown University. He was the medical director of hospice at Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties.

He is also a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care and certified in medical acupuncture.

He is certified by the American Board of Family Practice.

Persistent follow up to help me with effective treatment of a lingering flu. Very competent provider. The whole practice works as an impressive team in the midst of a widespread Covid and flu outbreak. Especially impressive was an overarching triage of nurses that helped my wife and I, both diagnosed with Type B flu, to find care with our PCP or another doc to receive care and avoid the 4 or 5 hour wait at the ER that we were otherwise be facing. Very impressive.

The appointment was fine. The follow up regarding feedback from exrays was terrible. I had to call the office 3 times before I got any answers. And that's after I waited 3 days after the results were posted in MyChart. Previous to the appointment, the staff totally failed to send the lab work request to the lab after I had requested the same.

I was treated very nicely throughout my visit from when I entered to when i left, from everyone. The atmosphere was very professional and very warming and welcoming. This location was also very clean. I was seen in a timely manner and understood everything that was told to me that concerned my scheduled visit, which room to head to next and payment at the end. Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
