About Trent Ainsworth DO
Dr. Trent Ainsworth graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Dr. Ainsworth earned his medical degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following medical school, he completed his residency in Family Medicine at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, serving as chief resident during his final year.
Dr. Ainsworth was initially attracted to medicine through the road to recovery following several sports injuries, an experience which made him realize he wanted to work in a career that could immediately impact individual lives.
His clinical interests are in lifestyle medicine and obesity medicine. He believes that family medicine offers him the perfect blend of patient-doctor continuity, medical complexity and in-office procedures, all while allowing him to maintain a work-life balance that affords him time with family and the pursuit of other personal goals.
Along with his hobbies of spending time with family, running, cycling, surfing, skiing, and hiking, he is passionate about raising kind, compassionate, and confident daughters.

He is focused on the WHOLE individual and pays attention to all of the impacting factors in my life, so that he can offer suggestions that are specific to me and my situation. I appreciate his thoughtfulness, attentiveness, and willingness to see each person as an individual, while being able to assess them through a holistic lens!

You did everything well; I have known this practice for decades and I'm very impressed with your ability to con-tiniest to address the problems of primary care in RI with enthusiasm & flexibility which helps this "almost over the hill" medical provider hold on to the hope that RI can maintain its his- tory of good medical care in a small state
My only complaint is that I was seen 20 minutes after I was scheduled. Doesn't happen often and not a big deal. Dr Ainsworth and staff are friendly, respectful & most importantly listen to me. This was a wellness visit, and he spent a fair amount of time talking & sharing his thoughts with me. Also he asked the office to schedule several appointments/tests that he & I agreed on. All in all an excellent visit.

Dr. Ainsworth is fantastic. He is respectful, knowledgeable and addresses all of my concerns. He gives his perspective as a provider, but also listens to my goals as his patient. We work together to devise a plan to better my health instead of pushing his opinions on me (which a lot of provider in primary care tend to do now). There are not a lot of providers left of his caliber. All I can say is thank you for the exceptional care!

In a world where most providers seem to care about insurance reimbursements, or lack there of, Dr. Ainsworth has always taken his time with every visit, given a very thorough exam, and make sure all my questions are answered before I leave. Even if I forget something, I can always message him on the portal and he gets back to me in a very timely manner.

My comfort level was very high while in the care of this provider.
Had to cancel my first appointment but was called back as soon as another appointment came up. And the date worked out perfect.Front desk was very efficient. Dr. Ainsworth was pleasant and very attentive to my questions. He made me feel very comfortable. Check out was quick and my next appointment was made. Also scheduled my bone density test. All around the office is very efficient and the staff very pleasant.
