About Timothy Byon

Timothy Byon, MD earned his medical degree at De La Salle University College of Medicine, Dasmarinas, Cavite, Philippines, and completed his residency in family medicine at Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners in Grand Rapids, Mich. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Ca.

He previously practiced at the Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, AFC Urgent Care in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Mercy Health in Grandville, Michigan.

Dr. Byon is certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Physicians.

His interests include promotion of health and wellness and support for community outreach.

Dr.Byon is a genuinely caring doctor. He is extremely supportive of me in all aspects of my healthcare. When I speak with him I feel like he is sincerely investing himself in my well being. Dr Byon isn't my usual, Dr. He was really nice. Dr Byon ,new right away, wha was making my shins ,ankles and feet, so swollen. It was a medication I was taking for about a month. He seen how swollen they both were and he was Right, I stopped taking the medication and, I have been taking Benadryl and the swelling is starting to go down. Tim Byon is a great doctor, very pleasant, informative and and on top of what was needed. Staff was kind and helpful as well. the one thing I will say is that I have two sons that are patients of him as well and at first it seemed as if he wasn't really as familiar with us as I would have liked. In honesty and fairness, I do realize he has a lot of patients and I'm just old-fashioned and like to have that type of relationship with my physician. Once we discuss this, it was resolved. All great things to say about Tim Byon.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
