About Susan Kim

Dr. Kim earned her medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the Boston University Medical Center in Boston, and completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

Before joining Southcoast, she was a hospitalist at Boston Medical Center.

Dr. Kim has done research at the Tufts Medical Center Human Nutrition Research Center and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Center for Cancer Research and Department of Biology. She was the recipient of a national Nutrition Research Center/USDA Pilot Project Grant to study obesity-associated colorectal cancer.

She is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology.

All staff are friendly upon visiting this facility. I was registered as soon as I arrived and taken in at the exact time of my appointment. Staff was courteous and doctor is the best. Happy when she came in the room explaining where I was 2 1/2 years ago and symptoms I should be aware of in the future. This had been the best team I could have ever asked for.

My experience, this is my third probably go-round, and Dr. Kim has been consistent with showing me things that the surgeon never told me about or warned me about. It was a done deal with as far as she was concerned. I didn't even need to see an oncologist. So I thank Dr. Kim for wanting to always answer any of my questions and even volunteering a little more information for any upcoming questions I may have and don't know I have at the time. My information was presented to me in a clear and concise way and treatment was scheduled in a timely fashion. Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
