About Shobhita Sundar

Dr. Sundar received her medical degree from the University of Madras Stanley Medical School in Madras, India. She then completed a residency at Railway Hospital in Madras. Dr. Sundar completed her postdoctoral training in internal medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Mass., where she was chief resident.

Dr. Sundar is board certified in internal medicine. She is also certified in bone densitometry.

The staff person that answered the phone was able to answer all my questions and get my appointment scheduled promptly. The doctor called me back within a matter of a couple of hours and she was able to do my telehealth visit right away. I was very satisfied because I have COVID and I was not feeling well. My prescription was called into the pharmacy right away. I would say this office runs very efficiently. This happens all the time. It's a great place and the provider is a great doctor. She listens to all my concerns.

Dr. Sundar did a great job, excellent. But her assistant forgot me in the room and I had to wait there more then a half hour. Finally I opened the door and that's when they made up that dr. Sundar was with another patient, but I noticed there was no charts near the door. Comesense I was forgotten. New assistant I notice. But Dr. Sundar is a 5 star doctor hands down.

At 8:40AM I called DR Sundar's office and explained my health problem. The technician took all my pertinent information and was told he would pass it on to a nurse in Dr Sundar's office and I could expect a call. By 9:00 AM I received a call from the doctor herself, much to my surprised, and we discussed my condition, she created prescriptions and forwarded them to my pharmacy. In 10 minutes my problem was addressed and hopefully solved - much to my satisfaction b favorite doctor.

Dr. Sundar is wonderful, however. since Covid things are not at the same level of care as they used to be. also, the dictation being expected from these doctors is taking away from the human experience during these appoinments. Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
