  • Not flexible around the use of certain medication. The medication was a controlled substance so it's understandable to be cautionary. However, there are times when a patient is in pain that needs flexibility.

  • Sarah knew my history and was able to diagnose what was wrong and ordered a prescription. Can't ask for better than that!

  • Saw the NP, Sara. She didn't tell me why I was in pain and sent me for an ultrasound. The result was negative and she gave me no advice for what to do for my situation.

  • The medical terms in the messages are not for the average person to comprehend. My Dr did not phone me to explain and the person who did phone me simply explained the medication and could not answer questions regarding the discomport I was experiencing.

  • I call because on Wednesday because I had a bursitis. I thought it was bursitis in my elbow. I got to see the nurse practitioner as soon as I get out, so I had to wait a whole day to see it's like when you get an appointment till Thursday when I get in there, she didn't want to see me. Let me she saw me but she immediately referred me to the ER and I just thought I could've been referred to the ER day early. I'm probably get start feeling better a day earlier and currently I'm admitted to a child hospital because of it. So that's about all I wanted to say. Thank you.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
