About Ronald Rapoport

Dr. Rapoport is Chief of Rheumatology. He is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.

Dr. Rapoport earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and will see patients at 1030 President Avenue in Fall River.

His main areas of focus include the variousarthritidies such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthristis, gout, lupus, ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis as well as osteoporosis. He was an intern and junior resident at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center. He completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in rheumatology at The Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Rapoport is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. He is a member the National Osteoporosis Foundation, and the Fall River Medical Society. His past publications have focused on the management of acute pain, and the treatment of osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
He is a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and of ABIM (subspecialty of rheumatology), and a certified clinical densitometrist.

  • The doctor was very nice and very comforting. He also listened to what I had to say and explained my condition to me and things that I could do to help improve my condition with my arthritis. The only problem was we wasn't connected, not all my stuff was through South Coast. Is that what you're at? So, we didn't have access to some of my tests from my different company, but other than that, when I spoke with him he listened carefully and he explained everything and I felt very comfortable and I left the office*

  • Dr. Rapoport over the years has provided enormous relief, or cured me of debilitating. Gout arthritis, plaque psoriasis. Just to name a few. He has been a modern day Angel and savior to me. And I am so grateful to him, and his staff everything they have done. He is unbelievable as a rheumatologist, and I thank him.

  • I had trouble with the video component. If there are specific settings needed for a FaceTime call, it would be helpful to know in advance of the call.

  • Technology was not successful in receiving audio. MD has to call me. He contacted me again via computer to do exam which I felt was not successful or even a physical exam worthy of any evaluation. I was not pleased with process at all!

  • The timing of the televisit was prompt and as scheduled. Dr. Rapoport made some verygood suggestions for lowering the amount of the medication that I am taking. I did notnot feel rushed. All of my concerns were addressed and questions answered.

  • This is my 1st telehealth visit and the doctor was extremely helpful and he listened to everything I had to say. He also gave some nice feedback and some advice on assistive technology.

  • I don't feel that I was listened to at all. Same with the previous appointment. After which I attempted to switch rheumatologists, but was told it's not possible if the doctors are in the same office. (I did send an email about that, way back in November/December, and did receive a response) So, unfortunately, I'm going to have to look outside of Southcoast for a rheumatologist now, because I'm not going to waste money for a doctor that doesn't listen to my concerns.

  • The tele has got to go I tried and could not get in so I finally called the doctor and he did not sound happy with me because it was supposed to be face to face on the tele . I prefer in person that way the doctor can see whats going on with my problem.Thank you

Thank goodness dr rap called me early but I was still minutes away from his office. While talking to girl who called she could not tell me how to get to the dra new office. She could not tell me if I needed to go for bloodwork and if soWhere. The office girls are very lacking in knowledge. It is very disappointing that the office staff did not remain the Same

  • I was scheduled for bloodwork. When I arrived the paperwork was not forwarded to the lab and the office was incommunicado! The administrative staff completely dropped the ball.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
