About Robert Vazquez

Dr. Vazquez earned a medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in general cardiovascular disease at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He served there as the Chief Cardiology Fellow from 2018 to 2019 and received the Resident Student Teaching Award in 2016.

Previously, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J.

Dr. Vazquez is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He has a special interest in non-invasive cardiac imaging and has additional board certifications in Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (CT).

He is a member of the American Cardiology Society, the American Heart Association and the American College of Physicians

  • The environment in the providers office was very cordial and the intake of my information and vitals was smooth and unhurried. The visit with Dr.Vazquez was excellent. He was patient, answering my questions and fully explaining the future treatment/forward testing that he was suggesting to dove tail with my congenital cardiac specialist is Boston.   • The doctor really spent time with me and listens and explain things and even talked about covid and things that happened as a result of GI procedures that he wasn't involved in, but he helped me understand. I had a loss of blood and he helped me to understand. How that all worked and what I needed to do and how much longer I could expect it to take before my numbers were back up where they belong. So he talked to me about a number of things, not just what I went for and really took, took his time with me.

  • The thing that most impressed me about my doctor's visit was, he had read my complete file before I even came in and introduce himself, and he knew exactly what I've been through in the last 3 months, so that was very impressive.

  • Great experience on my first visit

  • I'm very satisfied with Dr. Vazquez, the staff as well as the other doctors in the practice who I met during my hospitalizations. I'm very dissatisfied that the office was moved to the 2nd floor to the farthest corner of the building. It was 93 steps from the elevator to the office door. This didn't include the walk from the parking lot, or steps to checkin. Cardiology patients generally have a problem with exercise tolerance so this is an accessibility issue. When I'm in a-fib, I have trouble walking across the room. I've been hospitalized twice for a-fib and required a shock both times to get back to normal rhythmn. The office needs to be moved back to the first floor, closest to the entrance. I've contacted Southcoast Admin to express my concern. Wheelchairs are available but it takes more exertion to push yourself in a chair, up to 40% more effort. I would rate accessibility as a 0 on a 1-10 scale. I expect a hospital to be aware of the all of the ramifications of their decisions. Did they consult the cardiologists about the negative effect on their patients? Obviously not, please fix it.

  • Personnel in Dr Vasquez office helps me get around in my wheelchair which was difficult for me, and they helped and they escorted me to the front door where I was picked up by a van driver. Thank you

  • I was impressed from the moment I walked in, staff was friendly, took my temperature, allowed me to hand sanitize then showed me where to check in. I went to the window and checked in. I waited a few minutes and was called in by [Name], what a gem you have with that one! So incredibly nice, professional and Courteous. I had mentioned that I was nervous and so was able to calm me down. This was by far the best nurse I have had the pleasure of seeing. Dr. Vasquez was so kind and professional, I went thinking there was something terribly wrong and he ensured me that it is controllable. Honestly this visit made me feel happier than when I arrived.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
