About Patrick Gagnon

Dr. Gagnon is the Chief of Radiation Oncology at the Southcoast Health Cancer Center.

A graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Gagnon completed a residency in radiation oncology at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Ore. He has specialized expertise and interest in stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiation therapy and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT).

Dr. Gagnon has performed research in adaptive radiation therapy and imaging and has presented at numerous national and international meetings. He is a recipient of a competitive research grant, the ASCO Young Investigator Award, for his novel research on head and neck cancer.

Dr. Gagnon is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO).

Dr. Gagnon is Board Certified in Radiation Oncology.

  • Today's procedure was the CT setup of the Radiation Therapy I will be receiving. Both techs involved in this session were very professional, yet personable, putting me at ease. Dr. Gagnon also participated, professionally guiding this detailed procedure. He, as well, was personable and obviously knowledgeable. I humbly give high praise to all.

  • Staff was amazingly welcoming... from valet to checkout. I was comforted to see several RNs on staff... informed, willing to answer multiple questions re procedure. Video was helpful, also addressing concerns.... prepared me to speak with Doctor Gagnon.   • My opinion is that when they schedule you for a time, they should respect it because I had this appointment at 3:15 and they always attended to m three thirty, forty five minutes after, so they should see what they can do to see appointments at their scheduled times. They were very very attentive and the staff was very good. They treated me very well.

  • Regarding list of medications,I indicated that I no longer use Flovent but continue using Albuterol.I noted, on the summary of visit, that Albuterol was removed from the list. Only Flovent should have been removed from my list of current medications.albuterol.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
