About Nevine Henin

Nevine Henin MD, MPH earned her medical degree and graduated with honors at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. She continued her education by earning a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In addition, she is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and AMA. Dr. Henin is fluent in English, Arabic, and French. Her clinical interests include dermatology and epidemiology.

Dr. Henin was inspired to become a doctor by watching her mother take care of her patients in Egypt. Since then, she has fulfilled her desire to help people through her medical work in multiple countries, including Egypt, Zimbabwe, and the United States. Her personal philosophy of care is rooted in her efforts to make sure her patients feel seen, heard, and properly cared for.

Outside of work, Dr. Henin enjoys hiking, traveling, and cooking.

  • I have been pleased with Southcoast Health from the start of their group. I have been pleased with my care physicians for years now even before the group was formed. The transition from my former primary care to my new one was easy.

  • This was my second time seeing Dr. Henin and I was not very impressed after the first visit as I felt I spent more time talking to the nurse than her. This time however I do feel like she spent more time with me, it did still feel rushed, but she listened more than the first! I just wish I felt like she understood my history and like we where building our patient doctor relationship, still room to grow in that.

  • Support staff were great, professional, caring, and warm. However I am not pleased with the doctor. She was curt, at times condescending, intimidating, and did not seem to be interested in nor know of my background. She exhibited little to no understanding nor compassion regarding my current situations of recently losing my husband to covid, other realistic emotional challenges, nor did she ask about my own recovery from covid at all, not even regarding inhalers and oxygen prescribed for me by her practice and related to covid. She had no intent on doing any physical exam (the appt was my annual physical) until I mentioned it. And even then it was brief and mechanical and she seemed put out by my request. I felt like a number, not a person and felt no rapport with her at all. I am definitely not pleased with her as my PCP.

  • I just thought it was odd that when the provider walked into the room, she asked me what I was there for. The appointment was her choice to...her...she wants it...this appointment as a 3-month follow up. I didn't think she should have asked me why I was there.

  • I was in there Tuesday for a doctor's appointment. I know it's only Thursday now, but I was supposed to get a follow up call from a gastrologist, and I never got one.

  • When asked about how to proceed with treatment and different medications or dose of a.d.d. ( a previously diagnosed condition) was told to see a specialist without a referral.

  • All members of the staff were courteous , competent , and interested in me as a patient.

  • I booked this appointment, I don't know, maybe 6 months or 8 months ago. Thinking it was a physical. And it wasn't. It was a meet and greet. Which I've done at this location before. And it basically served no purpose. The doctor didn't ask me anything about myself, how I was, how I was feeling, if I had any problems, concerns, nothing. Nothing. They weighted me in, took my oxygen levels. Put a step... stethoscope on my back and had me breathe 4 times. I mentioned that I need an inhaler to the nurse. She ordered me one. And that was it. And then she asked me if I'd like to turn... return in 3, 6,or 9 months. And I said well, I do need a physical. Okay. Well, we'll see you in 3 months. Now I have about 4 problems right *

  • Reception and all staff are great.

  • It was a new patient visit. No urgent issues.All went as expected.Everyone was kind and helpful.

  • Appointment scheduled was on time. Staff pleasant and personable. Dr. Henin is wonderful. Takes the time to listen and explains fully in terms you can understand.Have recommended Dr. Henin to others.

  • Well I was supposed to have my physical in July and you made me cancel because I needed a new patient visit first - so instead of my physical I had to meet a new doctor and pay for it out of pocket - then I had to schedule a physical - so instead of having my physical in July it's now pushed out to the end of November —-and then I get to the office and they tell me I'm there for a follow up ??? Ummm no- I'm her for my physical. Then the doctor didn't even know when I'm due for my Pap test and mammogram. So no I'm probably going to have to pay for this appointment too

  • This was my first ever visit with my new Primary Care, so kind of difficult to respond to some of your questions.

  • Never really cared of any of my symptoms. And then wrote on the computer of things that she did that never did, as far as a foot exam and etc.

  • I was seen quickly but had difficulty finding the office as the information on display at the facility is not listed by doctors name.

  • Reception prompt and courteous. Assistant was outstanding. Dr. Listened carefully to what was said

  • MyChart is telling me about an upcoming appointment which actually took place in the past. Also, I'm being offered sooner appointments for annual exams, this does not make sense. Lastly, I've been asked to update my email and phone number, but when I do, nothing gets updated.

  • No complaints. Everyone was attentive and polite.

  • MyChart patient portal should have the same information as the doctors system. MyChart has inaccurate prescription medicine information. Also, MyChart visit notes contains information about discussions that never happened.

  • New primary care. First visit. Did not feel listened to. Brushed off all of my concerns. Very upsetting Waste of time. I am glad I have other specialty Drs. I will discuss my concerns with them. I'll give her another chance. Then I will request someone else.

  • This was my first visit to Southcoast and I was very impressed. All of the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. They turned what for me was a very stressful situation into one that was very comfortable. I cannot thank them enough.

  • Not prepared to see me. Asked me why I was there. No discussion from MD unless I initiated. Worthless visit. I shouldn't be billed. I will look for a new primary care physician.

  • Over the course of the year, my PCP had cancelled my routine physical roughly 4 times. Then I was informed that my PCP had left this practice. I was contacted and scheduled for what I thought was a routine physical with a new provider. When checking in, I was charged a new patient fee despite being a patient at the office and told I was there for a new patient evaluation.

  • Dr Henin was amazing. Excellent communicator,listener, and professional.There was a huge improvement in my experience with support staff. Check in, check out and medical assistant were pleasant and respectful. This was a great improvement when compared to my previous experience with them.

  • I was seen within a very timely manner. And all of those that I interacted with were very pleasant, kind, and courteous. I did feel that my actual visit with the provider was very short. It didn't feel rushed, but it was very short. I only met with her for maybe 5 minutes tops. And I was there for my annual exam. And I felt like all that was done was listening to my heart and lungs. And that was really it and pressing on my stomach a little bit, but not much else. No, getting to know you as this my first visit. I guess, I expected some getting to know me maybe my history but it was right down to business in and out.

  • I am having issues with my knee, it was one of two reasons for my visit. The Dr completely disregarded my concerns about my knee. Asked no questions and gave no insight. It seemed as if she just wanted to get out of there.

  • Everyone at this office is extremely courteous and always listens to my concerns about my health.

  • The medical assistant told me to fast b4 my doctors appointment for lab work after the appointment. I did fast but evidently I needed to make an appointment with the lab. I wish I knew this before hand so I could have made the appointment that morning opposed to now having to come in another day.

  • I should have asked more questions about her reaction to a medication I'm taking which she seemed to take issue with. It was a brief first meet and as I'm relatively healthy for my age, I suppose there wasn't anything else she needed to say.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
