About Michelle Pacheco

Dr. Pacheco earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, and completed her internship in general surgery at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla. She completed her residency in urology at the University of South Florida.

Dr. Pacheco is trained in laparoscopic surgery including the da Vinci robotic system. She is interested in all aspects of general urology including; incontinence, overactive bladder, kidney stones, genitourinary cancers, erectile dysfunction, and benign prostatic hypertrophy.

She is a member of the American Urologic Association and the Society of Women in Urology.

Dr. Pacheco is a Swansea native and enjoys spending time with her family and young son, traveling and reading. She is especially fond of participating in community events and cultural activities and enjoys the South Coast restaurant scene.

  • The prep nurse was very calming and helpful. She explained what the procedure entails and what I can expect during and after the procedure. The care provider, Dr. Pacheco was delightful, professional, and soothing. She explained what she was about to do, and carried out the procedure skillfully. Before the biopsy, I was worried sick thinking about it. Dr. Pacheco was reassuring, calming, and I cannot thank her enough for a job well done. Thank you.

  • The receptionist, when checking in was most helpful, kind, pleasant, patient! I had issues with insurance, she suggested I call the insurance company, which I did: different health insurance! She called my doctors, explained I was having issues, but would be there as soon as we got it straightened out - which we did! She went above and beyond!! Unfortunately I did not get her name

  • Dr. Pacheco explained the illness to me and ordered appropriate tests to be done which will determine the course of care to follow.I have a medical background so I understood. Have a CT scheduled next month, and I did get an immediate office visit when I called so received immediate rx. for which I did appreciate.

  • Most of the office staff had long faces and complaining about things, that all could hear and I felt like I was a bother to them. Nurse that took me into the room had no people skills at all. As my nerves were already on a high level, she made no attempt to show any compassion. Just asked the routine questions and said Dr will be in shortly and left the room. Dr was pleasant and friendly, however talked somewhat fast and made it alittle hard to retain all that she said to me.

  • Dr. Pacheco was thorough, explained everything well, and seemed to be a highly skilled and informed doctor.However, I wasn't seen until an hour and fifteen minutes past my appointment time. I understand there are probably many unforeseen items that can come up and affect a doctor's schedule. This seemed like an extra long time to wait though. And, I don't think a doctor gets this far off schedule with just one patient. Perhaps they could have called patients to let them know the doctor was running very late. Many other patients also waited more than an hour and were not pleased with this. I waited weeks for this appointment, re-arranged my schedule and took time off from work. Proactively letting the patient know that the doctor was running very late would have been appreciated and would show respect for the patients' time. Unfortunately, receptionist [Name] made the situation much worse. She didn't have any empathy for the patient and her tone and demeanor was not friendly or professional -- with me and with other patients. This negatively affected the overall experience and was not a good first impression with this office.Thankfully, team member [Name] was empathetic, patient-focused, pleasant and professional. The very long wait and unprofessional receptionist reflect poorly on an otherwise seemingly great doctor.

  • As I have found to this day, Southcoast is a very forward thinking and knowledgeable place to go. All of my providers so far have been friendly,courteous, knowledgeable and polite. The support staff are friendly and helpful along with being knowledgeable.Everyone deserves a big thanks and kudos from higher up.

  • I feel very comfortable going for my appointment. Dr. Pacheco explains any issues I have so I understand.

  • This was just a follow up visit so not much could have gone wrong, but the visit was with a new (to me) doctor. I was seen right away and I had no concerns when I left.

  • It took an hour of waiting past our appointment time before the Dr came into the room. There was no apology for making us wait that long.

  • The visit went well. The doctor agreed that I could call in my response to the new medication. This is important as my copayment is $60 per visit and I have high medical expenses. I gave the doctor a 5 because it was a short visit. I would prefer having more than a single sample to base my opinion.

  • the front receptionist was young and it seemed like she didn't feel like working on the day of my visit. She was put out that she had to call another doctor to get me an appointment with them.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Helpfulness of Clerks & Receptionists, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
