About Michael Kelly

A graduate of Dartmouth College, Dr. Kelly earned his medical degree at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., where he also served as a clinical associate with the Tufts University School of Medicine.

Dr. Kelly is trained in all phases of pediatrics, including newborns, and also provides care to adults of all ages.

He is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Kelly is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.

Dr Kelly is an attentive physician who has not forgotten how to be an aware human being. I have much more confidence in his motivation to provide the best care he can within the system that we have become enthralled in, as both provider and patient. The limitations of the corporately owned physicians office is not conducive to the expression of concern, yet Dr Kelly, somehow manages to listen, interact, and express that concern with every visit. That is why I am so grateful for his SERVICE, not just his practice. I am a nurse of over 40 years. Back in the day we prided ourselves on being service providers; now it seems we are becoming providers of efficiency. Happy is the patient who can find a provider who can provide both.

And I didn't give a high rating for how much I would recommend my doctor because I feel that each patient needs to find out for oneself about that. So I would, even if I find a doctor to be very good, I still would think that each patient needs to find out who to get in things like that. Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
