About Michael Kelly

A graduate of Dartmouth College, Dr. Kelly earned his medical degree at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., where he also served as a clinical associate with the Tufts University School of Medicine.

Dr. Kelly is trained in all phases of pediatrics, including newborns, and also provides care to adults of all ages.

He is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Kelly is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics.

  • Your front office person was courteous and knowledgable of questions to ask for information. I received a phone call back from the nurse in a reasonable amount of time. She took my information and relayed it to the Dr. He called me back within 30 minutes. I reiterated my information and we talked a few minutes about what could be the cause of my concern and appropriate treatment. He prescribed a medication and treatment,and to call back if treatment not effective. He was also very courteous. Thank you in this difficult time.

Before becoming patients with SC we were part of Hawthorne and I remember being so nervous about changing our primary of 25 years due to our change of insurance. But, it was the best decision ever made. SouthCoast’s protocols from check-in to check-out are in no comparison to our experiences at Hawthorne. And, Dr. Kelly’s knowledge, care and concern is exactly how a true doctor should be. We hope he never leaves Southcoast.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
