About Melinda Patricio

Melinda earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the Univeristy of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She then furthered her medical expertise, earning her Masters of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Melinda’s clinical interests consist of congestive heart failure and cardiology.

Ever since Melinda was a small child she was always helping others, especially those who were ill or hurt. Having a close connection to someone who had heart disease helped her better understand that promoting a healthy lifestyle and heart wellness was extremely important, and one of the most valuable gifts she could share with others.

Her philosophy of care is centered around health promotion and wellness. Melinda understands the importance of developing a rapport with the patient, not only focusing on their illness, but also who they are as a person. This helps to create a collaborative team to overcome any barriers that may impact her patient’s overall health and wellbeing.

When not at work, Melinda enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.

I've had her before and I just thought she was very remarkable in the sense I hadn't seemed to be very much as to what she was doing and there was something that she wasn't sure that she was doing her best. So she went out and got a person who has been employed there longer because she was a short term person just to confirm that what she was doing was right and the person did confirm that and said, you know, just do a couple more and you're all set which they, obviously knew what she obviously do with the other person meant because they speak the same jargot. She helped to calm me when she noticed I was anxious, she quickly ordered blood work and the next day called me to tell me the results. She was wonderful, and I thank her.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
