  • I called the office earlier yesterday morning because I was sick and I needed help with a chronic condition. I was very thankful that they were able to fit me in for a same day, telehealth appointment and provider was very understanding, listened to my needs very well and was able to come up with a treatment plan that worked for me well. I was very respected and understood in this process. She asked questions and we made sure that the treatment was going to be the best possible. So I'm very thankful for that. I was also grateful that I was able to get a telehealth appointment and not have to worry about traveling to a location when I was sick. So I'm very appreciative.

  • The nurse practitioner I saw was polite and efficient. I did bring up a lingering medical issue that wasn't the reason for my appointment, she sort of brushed it off. That left me feeling a bit unsatisfied but did not make the whole experience negative. The nurse who initially took me to have my vitals done was rude and offered no good bedside manner. Made an exaggerated comment about the length of my acrylic fake nails and had an overall negative attitude towards me. I understand people having bad days, however for the most part I was pleasant, but her negative attitude did not let up so then I got w bad attitude. Also, in the original notes that were made prior to my visit were not a full list of symptoms I explained when making the appointment, I listed them to her and she also had a poor reaction to me listing them and typing them.

Southcoast Health physician profiles now feature star ratings.  Below, you’ll find frequently asked questions about our process for calculating the ratings.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
