About Megan Manny

Megan received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing as well as her Master of Science Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts. 

She truly believes in patient-centered care, which means that as a provider she puts herself in her patients’ shoes to better understand their concerns, situation, fears, and current understanding of the matter at hand. 

She feels that sitting with her patients and allowing them to explain what is happening in their own words is something she enjoys doing and believes it not only helps improve the communication between patient and physician, but allows her to tailor explanations to a patient’s concerns in a way that they fully understand; with better understanding comes the empowerment to make informed decisions. 

She believes that this small gesture goes a long way in building trust with her patients. 

Megan’s own pediatric practitioner, who cared for her and her siblings for over 15 years, was the inspiration behind her deciding to become a Nurse Practitioner herself. The ability to form long relationships with patients and families is what made her decide to go into primary care. 

To her, Southcoast Health means being able to directly and positively impact the community she lives in. 

When not at work, Megan enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with her husband and their dog.

  • My telehealth visit with Megan was scheduled after calling the office to report an issue with my father who has severe dementia. My concern was promptly discussed, addressed, visit scheduled by [Name] + calls/referrals initiated for outpatient wound care by visiting nurse association. Megan was attentive, professional, addressed all my concerns and questions and plan of care. The care received was excellent quality + highly accommodating.

My BP turned out to be ok but Megan gave me meds for my sinus issues. I was very relieved and the meds seem to be working well so I'm happy with that as well!All in all a very good experience!

  • Megan was excellent. Caring and kind as well as very collaborative with my mom and me and my sister who are caring for her along with our other siblings. She was thoughtful and most importantly she was knowledgeable about my mom's recent hospitalization. This was our first time seeing Megan but she clearly reviewed my mother's medical care. As a nurse, that meant a lot to me and really speaks to how she values her patients and the pride she takes in providing safe quality care to her patients.

  • NP Megan was awesome. This was my first visit with her as my DR was not able to see me until Sept which I could not wait because of my daily headaches as well as raising concerns on my BP. I called and they set me up instead with Megan which my wife who was with me said she was knowledgeable and concerned as well as helped us with many questions we shared and she listened to them all and even went out of her way and told me if I continue to get headaches or any issues call for her. Which I ended upHaving being rushed to the Hospital a few days later for passing out and having high blood pressure before I had a chance to start the meds she prescribed. It seems to be working now and wanted to say to her thank you. Very valuable person you have with her there.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
