  • Dr. Philips did a great job explaining potential procedure for condition

  • Dr Philips knew all about my records and knew the pain I was going thru

  • The doctor that saw me explained everything thoroughly and really helped me out.

  • Doctor was on time. He also came and got me!! His medical assistant / secretary's where so helpful and joyful.

  • It was a very professional, efficient, office visit and Dr. Philips was a pleasure to talk to. He listened to me. I understood what he said. He understood what I said. I think we made a lot of progress during my visit.

  • I was very happy with Dr. Philip's. He explained everything to me. He answered all my questions. He made me feel very comfortable. The staff was not as interested in their job purpose as much as the doctor. They did not make me feel comfortable. I was told it will take 2 to 3 weeks for the person that fills out the paper work to fill it out. That to me is a first. It never in all the years that I have had to have paper work filled out, did it take that long. I am out of work and requested an approx.R.T.W. date to send to my H.R. Dept. It is not the person that is filling out the paperwork(I spoke to her and she filled some paperwork out a lot faster)It is the people at the front office's remark. I am still waiting for my R.T.W approx date. It was the 2nd of December, and here we are the 6th of December and my H.R. office has still not received what is required of me.

  • The wait was long, in particular the waiting room was too crowded for this COVID time. I imagine doing telemedicine would be difficult with neurology but the pacing of patients needs to be reviewed. Dr. Philips was excellent.

  • Very knowledgeable

  • Wait time was too long and too many people in the wait room during COVID

  • dr Philips paid intense attention to my specific illness. Extreme care and detailed summary of how to rectify my specific illness. Dr Philips took extremely great care of me. my recovery went perfect and im completely functioning again

  • Dr Philips is great.

  • Thank god I waited for Dr Philips ! He is the absolute best! There is no comparison! Misdiagnosed by others !

  • This was my first visit with Dr. Philips and I would recommend him to others. He was pleasant, very knowledgeable and I felt comfortable having him as my doctor.

  • A timely about appointment times I waited 40 minutes past my time

  • Was very happy that my Dr said I could call when ever I needed to

  • First appointment with the specialist was very comfortable and professional visit.

  • Great experience. Nice to be treated like a person and not just a patient. Willing to take the to explain things and answer questions.

  • Well, this is the first time that I had met Dr. Philips. I'd been hurting quite a bit physically with my back. He explained everything very clearly. Listened to what I have to say. I know he has a terrific reputation. He's operated on some of my friends actually and I'm very happy that I have him for my upcoming surgery.

  • Everything went perfectly. My wait was short; my provider came out to get me; he looked at my most recent cat scan that had nothing to do with my visit and actually uncovered what had also happened to my back. He is fantastic!

  • Everyone treated me so wellWhen I needed help they were rite there to help and food was very good service

  • This is the first time I saw Dr. Philips and was as pleased as I had expected to be!??????

  • Very grateful that Dr Philips was able to fit me in his schedule! Always above and beyond, a excellent physician! Can’t Thank him enough!!

  • It was the first time I have done this kind of visit dr Phillip's was very helpful about my situation and tell me about things to do l felt very comfortable talking to him

  • Everything was great

  • Dr. Phillips and staff always polite and caring and very attentive to patients. Thank you

  • I hate the Tele-Med, especially when I can only do it over the phone. I think it is not fair to me or to my provider to do an examination in this way. Okay.

  • Dr Phillips has been my neuro surgery go to for nearly 20 years. He knows me, he understands the progression of my spinal disease and has worked with many times over the years using every means possible to keep me on my Feet avoiding the risks of surgery when ever possible. I have great confidence in his knowledge and ability to diagnose my neurological issues.

  • Doctor was very informative and explained everything to me so I understand.

Southcoast Health physician profiles now feature star ratings.  Below, you’ll find frequently asked questions about our process for calculating the ratings.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
