  • Everything was great

  • I have no complaints. My doctor’s concern for my reason for going to him was focused on my recovering. He seemed to get into the specifics of my lymphedema and alleviated the symptoms causing it. He then ordered a lab procedure that removed the cause of the symptoms. I have recovered from the lymphedema (knock, knock). I consider myself most fortunate to have been put under his professional care.

  • Doctor saw me within 15 minutes of my appointment time. This is very appreciated. And the rest of the staff was knowledgeable and personable. No robots here!!

  • Nurses were amazing. Knowledgeable and pleasant.

  • The doctor was running 1 hour late, I never received a call to let me know. It would have been courteous to have been notified. I would not have had to leave work early.

  • Excellent experience.

  • Exceptionally quick time to schedule an appointment (15 minutes) due to a cancellation. Doctor sympathetic.

  • The Doc took the time needed, didn't feel like the time was ticking!

  • This was my first visit to this gastroenterology office so the doctor was not quite up to speed regarding my gastrointestinal health, however he made a significant effort to get there. I feel comfortable with him in his specialty.

  • Dr. Berman is the best

  • Dr Bergman is one of the best doctors I have ever met. Such a gentleman and a great bedside manner. What a kind man. He even walks you to your seat. Very few like him remain.

  • I highly recommend Dr Berman.

  • Dr.Berman listens and understands what I'm saying. He cares. Sent me for blood work where they are fast and almost painless. Great places.

  • courtesy service

  • All was well.

  • The staff that sign you out need to have better attitudes... They are not very friendly.

  • A one hour wait for an appt. is too long.

  • The GI office always seems slammed, so understandable there will be wait times. That said, being dropped in the room, to wait over an hour for someone to show up is excessive. At least if you leave patients in the waiting room, there's some magazines and TV. Seems like that piece could be better managed. However, wait time aside, very happy with the office. Has made progress on my GI issues, which went about 30 years of shrugs and "take more Pepto" from my previous doctors.

Southcoast Health physician profiles now feature star ratings.  Below, you’ll find frequently asked questions about our process for calculating the ratings.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Helpfulness of Clerks & Receptionists, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
