About Mark Shparber MD
A medical oncologist in the region for more than 20 years, Dr. Shparber has a unique perspective of the needs of cancer patients in our region. He also serves as the medical director for the hospice program at Southcoast VNA.
Dr. Shparber earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Cornell Medical Center. He completed his fellowship in hematology/oncology at New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center.
He is board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine.

I always feel cared for by everyone at the Oncology center. Everybody I encounter is always extremely nice. I feel that the coordination of care and communication between providers is excellent. Things are efficient, but not rushed. Everyone takes the time to carefully review results and speak with other providers. I'm always included in discussions. It's wonderful to see how closely the staff works with one another. If a nurse asks for a med check, someone is by their side in moments. Seeing that type of teamwork is comforting from a patient perspective.
