About Mark Ringiewicz

A board certified family medicine specialist, Dr. Ringiewicz is medical director and staff physician of the Swansea Family Practice Group in Swansea. He is on the active medical staff of Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he has held several leadership positions including chairman of the Department of Family Practice.

Dr. Ringiewicz received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed his residency in family medicine at Memorial Hospital, a teaching affiliate of Brown University Medical School. He is clinical assistant professor of Family Medicine at Brown Medical School.

Dr. Ringiewicz is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Massachusetts Medical Society and Physicians for Social Responsibility.

Dr. Ringiewicz is the school physician for the town of Swansea.

  • It was great that the doctor called except I didn't know it was going to get a text and I would have to open up that text. So I think that needs to be verbalized to the patient that you're going to be at X especially was going to be telephone or face visit, you know the video. So that's only thing everything else was fantastic.

  • This was a phone visit due to the corona virus. I called to request an appointment for recurring knee pain (bursitus), and was told I'd receive a callback soon. A short time later, I received a check-in call, a second call about my problem, and a few minutes later, a call from Dr. Ringowitz. He listened to my issues, suggested steps I should take and called in a prescription to CVS. Very efficient operation during these awkward times. Very satisfied. As always, you guys are good, which is why I've been coming back for decades.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
