About Mark Ringiewicz

A board certified family medicine specialist, Dr. Ringiewicz is medical director and staff physician of the Swansea Family Practice Group in Swansea. He is on the active medical staff of Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he has held several leadership positions including chairman of the Department of Family Practice.

Dr. Ringiewicz received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed his residency in family medicine at Memorial Hospital, a teaching affiliate of Brown University Medical School. He is clinical assistant professor of Family Medicine at Brown Medical School.

Dr. Ringiewicz is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Massachusetts Medical Society and Physicians for Social Responsibility.

Dr. Ringiewicz is the school physician for the town of Swansea.

  • Everyone I talked to was very helpful and professional! I'm extremely pleased being my first time.

  • My entire visit was very positive. You're well organized. As I entered the building, and checked in, I only had to wait about 7 minutes into my room. I realize the Dr was seeing a couple people at once, but I never felt like I waited a long time. The Dr answered all my questions appropriately, and just made me so reassured. I think he's one of the top providers I've ever met, and I've worked with a lot of Drs. I really enjoyed my physical exam, and I guess the only issue is I had to wait 2 months to get in to see him, and it had been maybe 3 years since my last exam, because of covid. I would give the whole experience a 10, and I think Dr. Ringiewicz is one of the top people I've ever encountered. He knows exactly what to focus on, and how to present things to make you feel good about yourself.

  • I was able to be seen on same day unfortunately not by my primary physician. Had difficulty scheduling an appointment for an orthopedic specialist for my husband, receptionist was rude and said they had nothing available for 3 weeks and if I want I can call prima care so that is what we did we were able to get an orthopedic appointment within two days.

  • As usual, my medical appt occurred in a timely manner. I arrived early, was taken to weigh/do vitals in less than 15 minutes, waited for a few minutes after the vitals, and saw Dr Ringiewcz, had a great and enjoyable talk with him about my health and plans for my future retirement, and went happily on my way. I applaud Dr.R for the time and patience he has invested in getting/keeping me well, lo these last 20 or so years, he probably saved my life in the long run. Your organization is sound,and full of talented and dedicated people, so to coin a popular phrase from the trucking industry, "If it ain't broke, don't waste time trying to fix it."Thank you all for all you do,Southcoast andall your personnel,I think you're the best around.

  • I've been a patient of Mark Ringewicz since the days of RIGHA. As a physician myself, I try to consult and respect his take, and he respects me as an unusually active participant in my own care. I think we have a pretty good equilibrium as the years go by, but I'm concerned that I may still be around when he retires. WH

  • It was great getting a phone call from the office regarding my recent bloodwork and an associated health problem. Directives given regarding medication adjustment and repeat bloodwork.

  • I made the mistake of going to a walk in for a physical and routine checkup and it was the worst experience ever coming to Dr. Ringiewicz absolutely restored my faith in the medical field. I was treated absolutely amazing. He was super helpful and very very nice very understanding and very very good at explaining everything in its entirety to me. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

  • In the past it was simple to call the office directly and speak to someone to either leave a message for a physician or to schedule an appointment. I waited almost 30 minutes, on hold, to speak with someone in the call center to schedule my appointment. This is unacceptable. There is no reason it should take that long to speak to a human and schedule an appointment. What if I had a quick question for a nurse or NP? The "business" of health care has taken away from the relationships patients have developed over time with their providers.

They took their time listening to all of my details and to explain their thoughts regarding my health concerns.The only issue was that I waited a while in between seeing the student doctor and seeing the doctor but I assume that was only to report what we talked about. I also waited awhile for someone to bring me to the blood work area.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
