About Leilani Dimond

Leilani Dimond, MD graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. She then furthered her medical expertise, earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the Univeristy of Southern California. She was previously a family physician at the Naval Health Clinic New England in Newport, RI as an active member of the United States Navy. Her clinical interests include women’s health, preventative medicine, family planning, and minor procedures.

Dr. Dimond’s personal philosophy of care is centered around prevention first, while promoting a healthy lifestyle for all of her patients. She believes in taking a patient’s history, and listening to their concerns. She was inspired to become a physician by her parents, who met in nursing school and encouraged her to enter healthcare.

When not at work, Dr. Dimond enjoys staying active and jogging, walking with her children and dog, and spending time with her family. She also has a passion for crossword puzzles, word games, and crochet.

  • This office is very well run. The staff is extremely friendly and [Name] at the front desk was so helpful and such a pleasure to deal with. I am impressed. The office has a positive vibe which is unusual for a health practice.

  • It took the office over an hour & a half to get back to me about an appointment. I had to call 3 times (I almost went to urgent care instead). I did get a same day appointment, which I was grateful for. Doc listened & was very good.

  • It was a cheerful office where I was seen timely and the doctor listened and took the time to do and recommend procedures as necessary. I was impressed since it was only a 15 minute time slot. She did alot in that amount of time.

  • I am not sure that these short visits are valuable.I was glad my heart was checked and we discussed chest issues.However a hernia was mentioned but no information.It may have just been an off day for me. People are always respectful.

  • The front desk staff were extremely kind and welcoming. My MD was somewhat robotic and awkward. I did feel like my concerns were addressed but the overall interaction was a bit rushed.

  • The man at the front desk was great, the person who took my weight and height was ok, I liked the doctor she didn't know about my history but it was a new patient visit so I didn't expect her to. I did have to wait quite a while for the doctor but then she said I need a pneumonia shot and I also waited a really long time for that, I was there a little under an hour and a half. The wait time especially for the shot was the one thing that needs improvement.

  • This was a first appointment to meet the doctor. She was very pleasant , I don't have many health issue so not alot to be discussed . The only thing I would recommend is for her or her staff to give more information as to South Coast process. I Left the appointment not really knowing what the next process was and had to ask the front desk a lot of questions. I was just sort of handed paperwork with no explanations. Being a first time South Coast patient it would have been better for them to explain their lab and appointment process and offer an explanation of the lab work being ordered and next appointment information.

  • The nurse who checked me in was rude. The doctor did not know the specifics, or all the issues to follow up on after my previous appointment.

  • I loved Dr. Dimond. She was so very thorough and took me in when my own provider canceled. The support staff at this office is always excellent. I just love dealing with them. They make life much easier.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
