About Kristen Prescott

Dr. Prescott earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Anthropology from Boston Univeristy. She then attended Tufts University School of Medicine, earning her Doctorate of Medicine degree. Dr. Prescott then completed her pediatric residency at INOVA Fairfax Hospital for Children at the University of Virginia. Her clinical interests include general pediatrics and breastfeeding medicine.

Dr. Prescott’s parents told her that by the age of 5, she was talking about wanting to become a baby doctor, and that dream never changed! She loves seeing her patient’s when they are both well and sick, and she strives to get to know her patients and their families throughout all aspects of their medical care.

She loves the continuity of care involved with pediatrics. Pediatrics allows her to provide exceptional care to a baby after birth, continuing on through adolescence. Dr. Prescott’s philosophy of care is centered around a collaborative relationship between patient, family, and doctor. When not at work, Dr. Prescott enjoys spending time with her family and doing outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and long distance running.

    This was our first time meeting Dr. Prescott. She was amazing! Very short wait time, spoke to my child and asked her the questions. Explained everything well. One of the best experiences we have had at the office despite it being a sick visit.

    During this sick visit, my child was extremely nervous about what testing was going to be needed. The staff was understanding and patient with my child. I've never seen this Provider in the past but was very impressed by her genuine kindness. I also appreciated the phone call from provider so I had the opportunity to ask questions or concerns .

    [Name] was the MA who roomed us and she was absolutely amazing. Everyone in the office is always so friendly, kind and knowledgeable! Dr. Prescott is an excellent provider. She was in our exam room within a few minutes. She was quick and thorough and so playful and friendly with my son. Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
