About Kevin Delahanty

Dr. Delahanty earned his bachelor’s degree from LeMoyne College before completing his medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Mercy’s Department of Medicine.

Dr. Delahanty served as a physician in the United States Navy for nearly three decades before retiring from active service in 2006 at the rank of Commander. He served on deployments overseas in Spain and Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He has been happily married to Joan Howley for 16 years and has two teenage daughters, Emma and Lily. Out of the office his interests include literature, baseball, hiking, skiing, and traveling.

  • This provider was a new Doctor Kevin Delahanty who is replacing Dr [Name] and he is setting up a physical with him in his office. Since this was a Phone communication it went on time and I believe it was Fine.

  • This was a great service at this time. Thank you.

  • Love Dr.Delahanty. He is wonderful at clearly explanations. Warm. Empathetic.

  • The only issue I had with this visit is that the staff nurse who was calling to set up the appointment tried to reach me multiple times but was calling the wrong number. I finally contacted the office when the time of my scheduled appointment came and went with no phone call. The staff nurse berated me for not having my voice mail box set up (which it is; she was calling the wrong number). I believe a better response might have been to double check the number she was calling against the information I had painstakingly filled out in great detail weeks in advance. My appointment with Dr. Delahanty, when it finally occurred, was great. It was one of the most thorough appointments, despite being telehealth, that I’ve ever had. I was very impressed.

  • Staff is always pleasant, and dr delahante is very easy to interact with and always explains in as much detail as I can handle.

  • This was a virtual appointment and scheduled for 11. I did not receive a call from provider until 12:20. That is most frustrating when you are sitting waiting for the call and would suggest in the future that the medical assistant advise when provider is running late. Never an accepted practice to have patients waiting without proper notification.

  • Everyone i spoke with were amazing. I just didn't like that i had a video call instead of an office visit for a skin rash. Kind of hard to diagnose something you can hardly see on camera.

  • The doctor listened attentively to my concerns and was very responsive and efficient in planning our next steps.

  • I am old school. And if it had not been during this Covid 19, I would have been in the office.But as the good Dr. said, when it is safe, I will be able to go in. Thank goodness I am a WELLperson.

  • There was a delay in starting the tele visit. I was waiting uncertain of the status or if there was a problem. I understand delays - if I were in the office I would be aware that things were running behind. For the tele visit perhaps so kind of notice or update on my status would help

  • Considering this was all done via telephone and video, I will say everything went well. One on one in an office would have been a different, more thorough visit and one day that may happen.

  • Just just nothing like person to person appointment. On telephone you talk over one another you have to listen carefully to what the person is saying, it was just not a good experience.

  • This was a Tele visit because of the coronavirus. It went as well as it could over the phone, the set up phone call went very well as did the phone visit with the doctor. I look forward to meeting him in the future as this is a new doctor for me. He went over all my medications And explained it to me what his course of action would be when we meet for the first time in person. Since it’s a new primary care physician for me we’re gonna start with a physical exam and get to know each other and what my wants and needs are. I feel lucky to be getting this new physician thank you

  • This was my first experience with Tele Health services and the system worked very well.I was able to speak with my health care provider in a timely manner.

  • Hi, I had a very nice experience with Dr. Delahanty. I've only seen him once before but he's like an old time kind of doctor and that's what I really like. They just know what they're talking about and you know, it's not a bunch of extra stuff. They just can get right to it and I was feeling better within about 2 hours again the script that he provided for me. So yeah, I really had a great experience and I really like Dr. Delahanty so much so that I think I'm going to switch to him.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
