About Kevin Delahanty

Dr. Delahanty earned his bachelor’s degree from LeMoyne College before completing his medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Mercy’s Department of Medicine.

Dr. Delahanty served as a physician in the United States Navy for nearly three decades before retiring from active service in 2006 at the rank of Commander. He served on deployments overseas in Spain and Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He has been happily married to Joan Howley for 16 years and has two teenage daughters, Emma and Lily. Out of the office his interests include literature, baseball, hiking, skiing, and traveling.

  • This was the first time with this Doctor so some of the answers reflect this. I have to say I like the efficient way the staff run the place and don't wast your time having you sit around waiting for them your in they do what is needed and your out.

  • It would be nice if my folder had information pertaining to me, and you got my weight and height correct. I am not impressed with your procedures at all. It makes more sense to me to have had my blood work done prior to my visit so the Dr. could discuss issues then and not inconvienance me with another visit Which I have to pay for.

  • I got a same day appointment and everyone was great

  • I came to the office crying, in severe pain, dry heaving and with a fever. He ordered some tests to find out what was going on but did nothing to relieve the pain, nausea and vomiting I've been experiencing since Sunday. He just said I don't know what's causing it so I can't order pain medicine or anything else. Just because he doesn't know what's causing my fever, pain and nausea and vomiting doesn't mean i should have to sit here like this since Sunday.

Had fixation with my medical marijuana use as causes of chronic nausea. .Was supposed to have had comprehensive med review for nausea.. did not happen .Dr was arrogant.PA from prior appointment was very good and set up this appointed for nausea consult

  • This provider is normallt very good at listening but this time I seemed more like an imposition than anything and couldn't wait to dismiss me from the visit. I was extremely disappointed because normally he's a very good doctor but I felt like he didn't go over any of my concerns at all

  • Dr. Delahanty is a gem. He is extremely thorough. He never rushes through an appointment, always willing to answer questions and listen to concerns. I highly recommend him.

  • You got me an appointment expeditiously I really appreciate it that and then Dr. Delahanty spent a very fair, very generous amount of time with me answering all of my questions and listening to my concerns. I rate him a 10 in every category. He is absolutely terrific.

  • I always get a "bundle" of papers that are repeticious. I have a list of Physicians and told to call them.I WISH you would provide location andtelephone numbers on these pages, I have 4-5 bundles of info, but I do not know when to Discard the extras either, I am 88 and forgetful so I make notes on one paper and it gets lost in the pages when I need it.appreciate that you asked, did you have fun yet????

  • It took over four months to get an appointment and then that appointment was bumped almost another month. However, the doctor was incredibly helpful and took all my questions and concerns seriously.

  • We are new to this facility and Dr. Delahanty...my husband is turning 87 soon and we found this doctor to be extremely sensitive to informing us on each phase of his health issues/needs. The entire Southcoast medical system has been extremely efficient and professional at all times.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
