About Kevin Delahanty

Dr. Delahanty earned his bachelor’s degree from LeMoyne College before completing his medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Mercy’s Department of Medicine.

Dr. Delahanty served as a physician in the United States Navy for nearly three decades before retiring from active service in 2006 at the rank of Commander. He served on deployments overseas in Spain and Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He has been happily married to Joan Howley for 16 years and has two teenage daughters, Emma and Lily. Out of the office his interests include literature, baseball, hiking, skiing, and traveling.

  • We are new to this facility and Dr. husband is turning 87 soon and we found this doctor to be extremely sensitive to informing us on each phase of his health issues/needs. The entire Southcoast medical system has been extremely efficient and professional at all times.

  • 1st I would have liked to know that this was a meet and greet, not my annual physical, seeing it was already 3 months past my annual physical because of a provider change. And secondly had I known that I would have scheduled another appointment for the actual physical much closer to the original visit now, I don't have my physical until March. So now we're going to be 5 months out of whack. Not appreciated.

  • I was very impressed with meeting the doctor. He was very friendly and very easy to talk to and I look forward to meeting him in person. Because of my age, I am very nervous about an in person appointment, but I hope shortly I will be able to meet him. I really enjoyed my time spent with the doctor. Thank you very much. Bye.

  • Everyone in the office is very nice. My doctor, is patient, nice and listens to my concerns without making me feel like a hypochondriac. Lol.

  • First, the Southcoast facility in [Name] MA is excellent -- and they did a great job with Covid-19 protections / precautions. We are new to the area, and it was easy to schedule an appointment. Dr. Delahanty is our new PCP; my wife [Name] said he was excellent and I agree. Dr. Delahanty also followed up quickly when I sent him some information via My Chart.

  • greeted me with a smile, took temp with a camera, gave me sticker, weighed me and scale was 8 lbs high, I did NOT SMILE, saw my Dr and got a really good physical..been a long time since I had that, answered my questions and discussed situation I am in. Good news overall. sent me to lab for blood work which is necessary for me. I need blood work maybe every 4 mos, dep on what Dr D says. I like this Dr. very much, is reassuring and pleasant. I am happy with Rosebrook, and and all the pleasant employees there. Thank you

  • Took a long time to finally get in but I like Dr Delahanty. He seems caring and listens. I hope it is a long, good relationship. The only negative I have about my visit was the person I checked out with, who did not seem to care.

  • Dr Delahanty is one of the best MDs I have had in my life time. Very personable and takes time to answer any questions. Nice personality and Southcoast has a winner on their team.

  • Dr, delahanty did a wellness and a physical. the wellness he answered all questions about my health ( I had a list ). The physical was thorough and his manner was a 10. I am very happy with him as my primary and hope he stays around for a long time to come. So you see, My visit was excellent. Thankyou for staying on top with your surveys. I think they make everything operate better when you get the patients veiw of treatment.

  • It was just my initial visit so some questions didn’t apply, but everything went smooth.

  • I now have Dr Delahanty and he is wonderful. He noticed my bloodwork and is referring me to a specialist. He listened and spoke with me. I now have confidence in the office again.

  • Dr. Delahanty was great. He's very thorough, spent time listening and explaining. I really liked him and his style. However, the checkout office said she'd have somebody call me to make an appointment and they never did. When I called the following day, [Name] in the office said he couldn't get me until February and I had just had blood work, and I was supposed to get in a lot sooner than that. I also messaged Dr. Delahanty's office, and I still haven't heard from them and its been 2 days. So again, it's not him. It's something to do with his office and their scheduling. I'm not happy about that. They were terrible about that. Thank you.

  • A new PC that I hadn’t seen in person yet took the time to speak w me and assist me w a need. He and his staff did so in a timely manner and with good communication

  • Excellent experience with all staff and doctor. One appointment was telehealth and the other in person, both first time meeting new doctor. He had all our information and was able to address what our immediate needs are and tests were scheduled quickly for all follow-up texts. Scheduling was very helpful and in some cases reached us on the phone before we even returned home. So far, we are very pleased with the entire experience.

  • I didn’t go into the office for this visit. I will in my next visit. Dr. Delahaunty was knowledgeable, explained everything to me and listened to my concerns which is important to me.

  • Hi, they were supposed to call at 8:30 - they end up calling at 10 minutes to 9 - and the doctor's supposed to call at 9 o'clock, I had a called the office and he called back 20 minutes to 10. It is this is - everybody's busy - it isn't his fault and stuff, but I was a little Disturbed. Thank you.

  • This was an initial visit with a new primary care doctor, so there were some questions due to information that he has not received as yet. He was excellent and patient. The visit was with my husband, who is 86, so technology is a little challenging for him. All in all, very successful visit and doctor's follow-up was immediate and easy to respond to.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
