About Keith Baldwin

Dr. Baldwin earned his bachelor’s degree from Allegheny College before completing his medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania. He also holds a degree in International Medicine and Public Health from the Institute for International Medicine in Kansas City, Mo.

Dr. Baldwin was Chief Resident at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield through the University of Massachusetts before completing a fellowship in Surgical Oncology from Roger Williams Cancer Center through Boston University School of Medicine. He also performed advanced microsurgery training at Columbia University.

He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and the Society of Surgical Oncology, with a certificate in Surgical Oncology.

Dr. Baldwin’s specialties include endocrine surgery, general surgery, and surgical oncology.

In addition to spending time with his two young children, Dr. Baldwin enjoys playing guitar and singing for a number of local churches.

Both he and his MA [Name] were great to work with today. They made it a great experience, even though the last thing one would want to be is in a MD's office.The only minor complaint that I have is that my appointment was originally schedule for 11:00AM. I then received a call from Dr. Baldwin's office telling me the appointment was re-scheduled to 9:00AM. I realize that things come up and doctors may have to re-arrange their schedules, especially with the shortage of doctors. I do feel, however, that doctors and their medical practices have to be cognizant of their patients' schedules as well. Many patients, such as myself, have to take time off from work to go to appointments. I had to re-arrange my work schedule to accommodate the change the doctor made in his schedule. I went through this with Dr. [Name] [Name] and then with Dr. [Name]. [Name]'s office last year and again with Dr. Baldwin. If you want to be consumer/patient friendly, you can't keep messing around with patients' schedules and lives. Again, I stress this is a minor complaint, as I was very happy with the treatment I received from MA [Name] and the consult from Dr. Baldwin. Thank you and have a good Friday.

  • I liked the cordial treatment they gave me when I registered when I arrived, the nurse who took care of my vitals, they had an interpreter and very important the doctor was very kind to me and most importantly, he explained everything step by step. Thank you very much

  • I've had 3 biopsies on a nodule on my thyroid. This was by far the easiest one physically and mentally. Dr. Baldwin was very nice and personable. He explained things clearly and even told me I could look at the ultrasound monitor if I was interested. I barely felt anything during the aspiration which has not been the case the last 3 I've gotten.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
