About Julia Horan (Seddon)

Julia Seddon, NP, earned both her Bachelors and Masters of Science in Nursing, with a degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner, from the University of Rhode Island. She is Board Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Rhode Island and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

She started her nursing career in Rhode Island as a staff nurse for six years including working as a chemotherapy infusion nurse and most recently as a Nurse Practitioner in the Neurosurgery Department.

Julia’s clinical interests include using various modalities and alternative therapies to improve a patient’s complete health by reducing stress on the mind and body. She believes in taking an active approach to preventing future illness.

She enjoys a healthy lifestyle, focusing on a nutrient dense diet, cardiovascular exercise, and resistance training. She also enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures.

A Rhode Island native, Julia enjoys building relationships with her patients, as she feels these relationships are critical to developing a health care plan individualized to each patient.

  • The experience in the office was fine. The survey coming at this hour during dinner time is ridiculous. If you're going to have a survey like this for this length of time, please put it at some hour other than dinner time. Thank you.

  • I was calling and looking for help with the monoclonal antibody infusion therapy to treat covid. As a high risk patient I was hoping southcoast would help navigate the medical process of getting the treatment. Although the provided sent in the request it was after making calls and pushing them to put it in. ONce it was in no one could provide updates. I ended up going to my heart surgeon out of lifespan to get the treatment. If the southcoast "policy/process" was more coordinated I would have had the treatment on Wednesday and not waited until Saturday.

  • Body temperature is not a reliable indicator of covid-19. The physical layout of the building is unsafe during a pandemic. I came down with a cold after my visits, which may or may not be related. I am satisfied with the NP I have seen.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
