About Joshua Stone

Dr. Joshua Stone earned his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. Prior to earning his medical degree, he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. Dr. Stone completed his adult neurology residency followed by a fellowship in multiple sclerosis both at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital.

Dr. Stone is passionate about diagnosing and treating multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica, MOG antibody related disease, and sarcoidosis among other neuroimmunological disorders. He also has interests in general neurology, particularly headache and stroke.

Dr. Stone’s philosophy of care is to provide accurate diagnoses by listening to and getting to know each of his patients as if they were family. In doing so, he strives to work together with his patients to develop an effective, timely, and personalized treatment plan to help get their lives back on track as quickly as possible.

Originally from the area, Dr. Stone enjoys spending his free time with friends and family, exploring the Narragansett Bay, skiing, traveling, and cooking.

As a new patient to this practice, I was greeted in a cordial manner by a pleasant gal at the check in desk who prepared me with the necessary forms to sign. Wait time was very short. Nurse who called me from the waiting area, escorted me to the examination room and was very pleasant with conversation, great personality and as we walked it diminished any anxiety I had. Upon completing the intake info she left saying the Dr would be in shortly. The wait time again was minimal, the Dr. arrived, introduced himself, asked questions, performed an exam, and immediately presented to me and my spouse as being a very good listener, very patient and attentive and discussed the necessity for an MRI and the optional solutions for my pain relief. Then, visited a very pleasant gal at check-out. I am extremely filled with gratitude to have Dr. Stone as my medical provider and his phenomenal staff and are confident that I will reach relief for my medical pain.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office. The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
