About Joshua Costa

Joshua Costa earned his Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, MA. He then furthered his medical expertise, earning is Masters of Nursing Science, Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Regis College in Weston, MA. His clinical interests include emergency medicine, cardiology, and ear, nose, and throat.

Joshua’s personal philosophy of care is centered on treating, listening, and understanding his patients’ concerns in the same way that he would want someone that is caring for his family member to do. Joshua approaches each patient case in a holistic manner, treating and addressing every aspect of his patient’s overall health and wellbeing while viewing them as someone from his community who he can make a connection with and help in a time of need.

When not at work Joshua enjoys golfing, fishing, gardening, and woodworking.

  • terrific first visit.

  • Service was a 10, everyone was extremely nice from the moment I arrived . Because your office is so good I had to wait 5 months for an appointment but worth the wait. The woman who did my hearing test was a strong 10+, have clostriphobia and she was very compassionate and understanding. She explained everything to me in and went over the results so I could understand them. Joshua was very kind and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

  • Josh was very accommodating and attentive to my situation. He was well aware of my current issue and was ready to discuss any and all details about options and action plan.

My only complaint was that it took a very long time to get the appointment almost 6 months - with someone with constant ringing and dizziness that is a long time.

  • It was very good care, starting from the receptionist. The nurses were very attentive. the doctors were very cordial, attentive, and inspired a lot of confidence. It was very good service.

I am also impressed with the office staff that tried to get me in emergently after I had a hospital stay. Originally they weren't going to get me in until January and that was good someone had some sort of triage skills to provide my recommended follow up appointment, which was pretty emergent. So I am very grateful to this ENT. The nurse practitioner was amazing and I would rate him a 10 out of 10.

I am praying that after waiting all this time I can get relief from the pain and be able to hear again. It's very frustrating.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
