  • They were Timely, pleasant, and well informed

  • Very short wait time - they had extra staff in foyer taking temps and doing screening questions which is great during COVID. I was seen very quickly and the staff was very friendly and professional. I have been a patient of Dr. Martin for years and followed him from another practice so I have nothing but good things to say about him.

  • Not a high maintenance patient and felt telehealth appointment efficient and practical

  • The entire call went well. Didn't feel rushed. And Dr Martin addressed all my current concerns. Wonderful option while we're in this pandemic.

  • I was not rushed. Office personnel were cordial and efficient as always. Dr. Martin gave thorough exam and discussed and explained things quite clearly. Good suggestions were made, taking my preferences/thoughts into consideration with no hint of judgement. This is an office I am comfortable visiting.

  • Doctor Martin is an absolutely wonderful doctor!! The best!!

  • The use of medical teleconsultation is excellent.

  • Dr. Martin really listens to me. He always seems to be aware of what we've discussed previously and I really appreciate his knowledge of new therapies on the horizon for Multiple Sclerosis. Until Dr. Martin joined Southcoast, there were NO doctors that were knowledgable about Multiple Sclerosis. Each time I came for an appointment with a neurologist, prior to the arrival of Dr. Martin, they asked why I was seeing them, because they said they were not qualified to see someone with Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Martin is excellent!!!!! Please do whatever you can to keep him, until he retires, and then please be sure to have him actively involved in his replacement.

  • I am very pleased with the care system

  • Even though I could not go into the office for my appointment, the staff and Doctor Martin were very thorough and punctual. I highly recommend this office.

  • The level of examination and inquiry and the guidance for my specific situation as well as my general health are exceptional and you come away feeling like Dr Martin genuinely cares.[Name] [Name]

  • Congeniality. Knowledgeable about my situation and suggestions. Evaluated my progress and needs well.

  • Dr. Martin and his staff are absolutely wonderful, however, there so very few urologist in the area of South Coast Hospital that that it is very very very hard to get an appointment when one would like it and often the waiting time is 6 months or more. That's something I would like to see change so that one can see a neurologist, Dr. Martin, or any of his colleagues obviously, in a more timely fashion. Thank you.

  • Dr Martin is great. However, getting the office staff to relay a very important message does not happen. I left two messages in April and dr Martin never received either one. Both messages were left with [Name]

  • I was very impressed by the attention and knowledge .

  • Dr Martin is the best he was very nice made me feel comfortable, explained everything. I was very pleased with him. Also his Np is great to we need more doctors like this who listen and don't make you feel like your just another number.

  • He answered all my questions awesome dr. Also knew new medical issues from other drs. Within southcoast. Very good visit

  • Dr Martin and his staff is wonderful

  • Hi, my name is [Name] [Name] I'm a patient of Dr. Martin's. I love Dr. Martin, his office and staff is very courteous and timely. When they say they're gonna call, they're going to call. I had a teleconference with Dr. Martin and he is just wonderful. Sadly, I it doesn't take your office doesn't take my insurance. and I don't know what I'm going to do after this. But I've had them for many years. Dr. Martin you are wonderful, if anybody's listening. He is a very kind compassionate doctor and I just love him and I hope to have them for many years to come. Thank you.

  • This was my first appointment with Dr. Martin, and I can say without a doubt that he is the most kind, knowledgeable, and poised medical professional I’ve gotten to work with. He has wonderful “bedside” manner, attending to concerns during my appointment with care, while also providing me with information. He is incredibly thorough, explains things well, and encourages patients to be active in their treatment. I cannot commend him highly enough for his professionalism and devotion to the profession; I’d highly recommend him as a neurologist.

  • I spoke to the doctor by phone and it was erygood I did not mind at all

  • Dr. Martin is always thorough and very aware of my history. Very kind and shows interest and never rushes!

  • No improvement need

  • I tried several times to call into the office to confirm my appointment/return calls and was on hold for a lengthy period of time and eventually the system hinges up on me, then I left a message in a general mailbox, and when the staff called they said to me "we've called and left several messages and you haven't returned any of our calls". In times where you have an increase call volume you need to make adjustment and have more people and telephone lines available.

  • Dr. Martin is extremely personable. He's very knowledgeable. He knows me and treats me as an individual and not just as a patient in the book. Also [Name] [Name] [Name] who works with him has been extremely helpful and getting my paperwork to my job on time. She's she is also extremely personable and someone I would recommend he is she to use as their health care provider and their office.

  • The doctor was extremely helpful and a great listener. He was genuinely interested in my problems.

  • I really felt like the dr was interested In Figuring out my unique situation and wanted to help me better my situation. The other providers have always been nice but he really was interested in solving my medical concerns.

  • Dr. Martin was informative and very understanding. His knowledge about my health was amazing. I felt very comfortable and secure with his knowledge and suggestions.

Southcoast Health physician profiles now feature star ratings.  Below, you’ll find frequently asked questions about our process for calculating the ratings.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
