About John Leimert MD
John D. Leimert, M.D., F.A.A.P earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. Prior to that he had earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Leimert completed his chief residency in Pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and then completed his fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology and Critical Care at Rhode Island Hospital.
Dr. Leimert’s clinical interests include general pediatrics, pediatric respiratory diseases, and the delivery of high quality care to underserved populations. He was inspired to become a physician after watching his brother go to medical school, and learning of his experiences within the medical field. In addition, pediatrics interested Dr. Leimert as he worked at a New Hampshire based camp for underprivileged kids throughout high school and college, really enjoying the opportunities to coach and teach them. His personal philosophy of care is rooted in being present to all aspects of the patient’s human condition – not just the clinical presentation, but also the family’s defining social, economic, ethnic, cultural, and spiritual backgrounds.
Outside of work, Dr. Leimert enjoys many outdoor activities with his grandsons including hiking, kayaking, biking, skiing, camping, swimming, and traveling. Additionally, he teaches Tufts University physician assistant students the art of pediatric medicine, being a member of the faculty there for almost 30 years.

Dr.Leimert is absolutely amazing! Aside from having a wonderful bedside manner, he was so thorough. He remembered every detail of my children's medical history as well as what we had discussed at the physical the previous year. Hands-down, one of the best pediatricians I've ever dealt with. His support staff are also wonderful.
Everyone there has been nothing but great. Even though we now live 2 hours away we still continue to come to this location for its great staff. The doctor goes above and beyond and is extremely knowledgeable.

We absolutely love Dr Leimert! He is very knowledgeable and reviews the chart prior to the appointment so he is always up to date on all my son's specialists appointments. From check-in to check out, everyone was pleasant, attentive & caring. Dr. Leimert is the absolute best, he was destined to be a Pediatrician & it shows in his demeanor, ethics & compassion with every visit or call.

I'm so sad that he's reducing his schedule and it was a bit harder to make the next appointment, we had to book a full month later than expected, but Dr. Leimert is fantastic and I wantu00A0to keep seeing him.
This Dr. was new to my son as his other Dr. retired. This new Dr was very nice made sure my son knew what he was going to do at all times. He talked with my son and made sure to askIf he had any questions or concerns to let him know. He is a very nice and courteous Dr. he made my child feel very comfortable.

More Appointment times that are after school/ into the evening. Over the years We have gone from yearly physicals in late July to now October because exactly one year was not available or the appointment needed to be canceled once by us and once by the Dr office with a reschedule weeks later at best. So now we are in the school year. I prefer to not take him out of school for routine appointments.
