About Jessica Huang

Jessica Huang, MD, MPH, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Illinois.  She went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and School of Public Health, Piscataway, N.J.

Prior to joining Southcoast, Dr. Huang completed the Family Medicine Residency Program with Brown University at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, R.I.  Aside from English, Dr. Huang is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.

She is a member of American Academy of Family Physicians and has a special interest in women’s health. In her personal time, Dr. Huang enjoys being with her family and friends and sharing in a delicious meal.

  • Very good.

I also wanted to ask more questions but she always seems like she's in a rush and I didn't want to be annoying

  • Everything is done very well. The staff at the Swansea office is awesome.

  • Dr. Huang is great. She's enthusiastic and listens.The front desk was very busy. I thought I had a copay but didn't because it was an annual physical. No one informed me and I waited around to pay my copay.

  • Twice in two weeks or so, I've had my blood drawn. Both technicians were very pleasant and welcoming. I sensed stress in the front office staff. They were not outwardly welcoming. In my 1st of 2 visits, the med assistant told me that my blood would be drawn momentarily, however, 15 minutes went by and the doctor popped in to say, "they haven't come for you yet?" I told him I was waiting 15 minutes already. In my 2nd visit, Dr. Huang told me my blood would be drawn momentarily. I told her 2 weeks ago, I waited 15 minutes. She told me she had no control over that, but ironically, the tech came for me instantly.

  • Yes, I my doctor is Jessica Huang. I've been a patient in [Name] for 20 years and got sick of the traveling and she was new with the time 3 years ago. I believe it was and I enjoyed going to my appointments there. She's got more energy than me, and I'm half her age. She's fabulous doctor. She's if I need to get in there. She does everything she can to squeeze me in she's selfless. She's unbelievable a great asset to South Coast. I hope she never leaves. Anyway, that's my feedback rate a triple A. Thank you.

  • It was my yearly visit,had no issues,, doctor,nurse and office were all good. Everything was handle very well, I felt comfortable and safe. Everything was done very orderly, mask were worn by everyone,I felt safe. Very organized.

  • Jessica Huang is an awesome provider who spends the time I need with me answering my questions and creating health goals. However, this facility is difficult to get an appointment in. At times I've had to wait wait too long for my physical and other appointments. It's all so difficult to get a stick appointment. That's it.

  • Although very difficult time for the office I felt safe with their COVID actions and precautions. With this being said I also hesitated when asking for specific testing outside of routine procedures for example foot pain seeing specialist for minor problems

  • Copies of conversations between the dr. And myself . So much information is being discussed and as the patient you are trying to follow it all but only certain words got str in your mind and the rest of the in is lost. So if a print out of the content that was shared between patient and Dr. than you as the party would be more informed and knowledgeable about the discussion and would be ale to ask questions that concerned you.

  • We spent a lot of time with Dr Huang and she was thorough and explained everything and made my daughter feel comfortable.

  • Dr. Huang is very knowledgeable of my case, she is engaged and easy to communicate with. She is an excellent provider. Additionally, the support staff is very friendly and always explain next steps and answer questions in their area of responsibility.

  • Appointment started really late (scheduled for 4:30 and didn’t Start until after 5:15) but provider was very apologetic. Dr Huang is very thorough and easy to talk to.

  • telephone visits are OK and at this time necessary but I actually enjoy seeing the doctor face to face I'm hoping by my next visit this will be possible. I just miss the facial interaction with people. You and I are doing the best we can. Thank you for being there. praying we'll all be better because of this ordeal. We've proven we can do what is necessary and come out the other side better for it.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
