  • The triage nurse got me a same day appointment with the nurse practitioner who was GREAT. Tests were done and my symptoms validated. RX was prescribed and update was in the portal.

  • Jen Silva, PNP and [Name]have truly been there for me as I have struggled with my health lately. I genuinely appreciate having them as my health care providers.

The phone situation in the morning is the only thing that can notch it a half a star off of a ten, but I also used the portal system which helps with South Coast (compared with other networks that have portals).

  • The person who was checking me in, going through my info and asking for copay was rushed. dismissive and not customer service friendly. Otherwise all service was vey good.

  • Staff was very responsive in getting back to me after I made a request via My Chart. I would have liked to have gotten an appointment a few days earlier, but this was not possible. I was told that I could call on Thursday, July 7th for a "same day" appointment, but I had other commitments that day, and I was starting to feel better, so I can't blame them!

  • Responded quickly to my request for a prescription for an antibiotic.Telephone conversation that was required to speak with covering MD occurred right on time and prescription was called in to pharmacy.

  • The staff is always professional and pleasant and I feel comfortable going there the only thing that bothers me, is walking up that steep concrete ramp out front. You have installed a new railing for patients to hang onto which is great, but there should be some kind o rest bench to sit on when one is out of breath or dizzy, I was hoping for that, but it looks like it isn't going to happen, a safety measure !!

  • It all went well, and I called back once I started prednisone bc I got a rash. They were great and got back to me right away. I had just been in the office 2 hrs earlier and was afraid I was going to be charged again bc I had a question. I have to pay out of pocket, hugh deductible. It happened last yr when I called w a question, they charged me again.

  • My experience is very good Jennifer Silva is always very nice and caring and effective and so is her staff and I was seen in a very timely manner. I was seeing about 2 minutes after I checked in, and I was on time for my appointment and as always take me right in every time I go there, the only issue I've ever had is it very long to make an appointment. I have to call and then wait on hold for over 20 minutes and it wasn't through Jennifer Silver's office. It was through South Coast, which is a little ridiculous that I have to call them and then call talk to my doctor or someone in their office. It's a little too much. I liked it better when I could just call Dr. [Name]'s office directly, and I can no longer do that. So that's not very nice and I don't appreciate that. It's a waste of my time, but I'm free thing that happens at the office is perfect and the staff is excellent.

  • For my previous visit they were backed up and I could see my appointment was going to run late. I asked if they could find out and rescheduled with no judgment. That made me feel important and not just another number.

Why does Southcoast publish survey ratings online?
Southcoast is dedicated to providing patients and consumers with helpful information about the quality of our patients’ experiences. Star ratings published on our physician biography pages are based on actual responses from patients of that particular physician to patient satisfaction surveys that are distributed and processed by a national patient satisfaction survey vendor.

Who receives the survey?
Our vendor sends surveys via SMS or email to all patients seen in our outpatient physician practices who have a valid smart phone number or email address on file with Southcoast Health. Surveys are sent to patients within a few days of their appointment.

How is the Patient Satisfaction Star Rating Calculated?
Star ratings are calculated using an average of all survey responses to each of three questions: Courtesy and Respect of Staff, Provider Overall Rating, and  Willingness to Recommend Provider’s Office.  The star rating displayed on our physicians’ main biography page represents the average of the three measures for that particular physician.
